For folks on the CellC deal with the B618 router.. which version of the router did you receive?? B618s-22d or B618s-65d
65d supports telkom 2300mhz lte. 22d does not.The '... 22d' version. What is the difference between n the 22d and the 65d?
Sim still not activated. Received it on the 20th! Axxess cannot help. Is the Cell C rep online?
Recieved my Router and Sim Card at 10 in the morning, 1pm everything was already up and running.Only had to restart the router once.
Cellc uses their own network not Rain.
Let me just make a quick summary of what bands networks use.
MTN: 2100MHz (band 1) and 1800MHz (band 3). For LTE-A they aggregate these two bands.
Vodacom: 1800MHz (band 3) own network OR 1800MHz (band 3) Rain and 2600MHz (Band 38) Rain. For LTE-A on Vodacom they rely on Rain and aggregate band 1 and 38 on Rain network.
Cellc: 2100MHz (band 1) and 1800MHz (band 3). For LTE-A they aggregate these two bands
Telkom: 1800MHz (band 3) and 2300MHz (band 40). For LTE-A Telkom aggregates 2 x 20MHz spectrum blocks in band 40.
Rain: 1800MHz (band 3) and 2600MHz (band 38). For LTE-A they aggregate these two bands BUT you will never see LTE-A on Rain as the 5 routers supported on their network including the B618s-22d does not support aggregation between these 2 bands thus you can only connect to one of them at a time...
Cellc and MTN has the advantage because as far as I could see all the B618 models will support their LTE-A network.
Did you have to change the APN?
The '... 22d' version. What is the difference between n the 22d and the 65d?
Huawei B618s-22d Supports:
– 4G LTE Band 1/3/7/8/20/38 (FDD 800/900/1800/2100/2600MHz & TDD 2600MHz)
– DC-HSPA+/HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS:Band 1/8 2100MHz/900MHz
– EDGE/GPRS/GSM:Band 2/3/5/8 1900MHz/1800MHz/850MHz/900MHz
Huawei B618s-65d Supports:
– 4G LTE Band 1/3/5/7/8/28/40 (FDD 700/850/900/1800/2100/2600MHz & TDD 2300MHz)
– DC-HSPA+/HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS:Band 1/5/8 2100MHz/900MHz/850MHz
– EDGE/GPRS/GSM:Band 2/3/5/8 1900MHz/1800MHz/850MHz/900MHz
It must be Axxess messing up. Here is on the plain Cell C SIM card, note my signal is much lower (3 bars), hence longer ping at times.Axxess / Cell C

Ok the problem was that the sim was micro, so i popped it back into the Standard sim frame and it worked.
Everything is working after I entered the Username and Password, I also had to change the APN which Mweb didn't give.

You can say so , Maybe Cell c's map is outdated. That upload though. So it works even though you are not in Fixed LTE coverage?
