Cell C, MTN, Vodacom showdown - 4G network claims

the problem as I see it is this:
Is it true the Cell C has a ITU defined 4G network? No.
Have they claimed that their network is a ITU defined 4G network?
I don't think so - bring the evidence

The link to the evidence you seek is in the article: "In January this year Reichelt announced..."

Someone should rename their random business to CELLCs.

mmmm... "CELLCs Dry Cleaning Solutions"

he announced that they are building a 4G network.
Its the same as claiming you are building the worlds fastest train service when you are excavating the the land for tracks. The fact that the engineers haven't designed the train except that it will run on Standard Gauge doesn't change the fact that you are starting work.

In other news the Vodacom/MTN duopoly have just upgraded their network to full 5Gs status.

Haha! Not advocating false advertising, but you think MTN and VC are complaining in order to protect the consumer? I think not.

It would be at this point that someone uses a saying involving some nasty name calling between the Pot and the Kettle, but the truth is in this case, the Pot is just so much worse than the Kettle.

Whatever happens, I hope Cell C pull this whole Price/speed deal off.

I don't agree with it. It seems like purposfully misleading the public in order to show your product is better than the competitors (it is a little better, but certainly not fourth generation)

Is this how cutomers are put first?

I had some arse from marketing asking if he was going to get the new 4G wireless.

If cell c continue like this ppl are going to think 3G is old news and thats not true

that being said, good offer, right price, I'll probably sign up

I agree that Cell C shouldn't be using the term 4Gs to describe its network, but at the same time Vodacom and MTN going after Cell C when they're trying to rebrand themselves as the good little guys who are on the customers' side, and with very low prices to prove it, the other two networks in question aren't doing themselves much good.

I know I, for one, am seriously considering moving over to Cell C. I'm waiting to see if Vodacom do anything to convince me otherwise.

VC and MTN should have kept their mouths shut. Now everyone knows they are worried about Cell C, and if they are worried, the new network must be worth something.

My question to VC and MTN is, why make the 4Gs complaint to ASA now? Did you have to wait unti Cell 'Gs' announcement of their prices to react? It won't make you look any better at deceiving customers than Cell C's - 4Gs ad! Wake up and take the game to your own backyards!

They made the S in 4Gs small so that when apple brings out the iPhone 4GS they won't sue the crap out of Cell C.

... like spoilt little kids, Vodacom and MTN. Cell C can call it "wireless fiber optic" for all i care. Money talks, and Vodacom has rapped me enough.

Cell C, here I come!!!

Plus fking one!

Everybody knows that it is not a real 4G network...Vodacom and MTN, rather spend your efforts at improving your own products!!!!!!!!
