Cell C Multi Data Connect: connect all your devices to one mobile data SIM

Hi Jannie, what are the costs on Vodacom compared to Cell C? Is it available on prepaid as well or only available to be linked to a contract, thus exponentially increasing the risk of running into the OOB shark via multiple devices? (Imagine all of them just downloading and your bundle being used up while 4 devices still download, 4 times the extra OOB).

Jannie will not get involved in debates about pricing. I am sure all the pricing is available on their website.

I can see why. From Vodacom website. Looks like the CellC option might be a little better.

Data Sharing SIM
Share a data bundle between your devices.

Get up to four additional data SIM cards linked to your primary contract.
SIMs can be used simultaneously in your smartphone, tablet and laptop.
Receive a consolidated bill at month-end so there’s no messy admin.
Pay R29 monthly per SIM on a voice plan. On a Red plan? Get your first two Data Sharing SIMs FREE!

Nice! Will wait for Vodacom to get this! That is if they do not have it already!
Vodacom has this on open ended contracts at R29 pm for each multi data sim, free on red advantage contracts etc. Hopefully VC will do the same on Top Up and Prepaid. Vodafone UK have these options at present. I think VC will follow soon.

I had to Vodacom one when it came out (I think it R9 per SIM) and was great. But at R99 per SIM, it's kind of prohibitive

I have Telkom mobile data sim and an MTN/Afrihost sim in my phone(dual phone), and my tablet/router my Telkom ADSL connected sim in there. 100GB's data to move around with.

Im assuming that you have 1 data package, and then multiple sims connected to the primary sim? Is that correct? So you would need a pretty solid amount of data, or am i getting this incorrect?

also MTN also has this, because our corporate clients can get a secondary sim. So this is nothing new at all

At what price?

R5 is phenomenally different to R99.

I will have to check on that price. It does not seem correct.

Be that as it may, that is not the point. The point I was making is that this is hardly a new revolutionary idea or product Cell C have come up with. /shrug

May not be a first but it certainly seems better in terms of price and functionality.

If you could get a normal CellC sim, and link a GIGA bundle to it, and get the benefits of the cheaper calling rates from the normal cellc sim, that would be kinda great.
