Cell C Network Issues: Disconnects, Coverage, Throughput Problems - Report Here

(Please move me to whereever this belongs if this is wrong place to post)

I have had my Cell C Blackberry contract phone and Cell C modem prepaid since early March and have noticed problems since the beginning. The modem drops off, and since auto-reconnect is switched on, and on like a yo-yo, some days worse than others.

The Blackberry shows full BIS (little logo) and full signal and still BBM won't go through (I use BBM as example since it is the only thing that will not jump to normal data connection).

The biggest problem is that my BB Protect has not worked since late March. It goes through the startup questions and then sits there and swirls its hypnotic little circle around and around and around ... I once left right through the night.

What have I done. I've done the register at HRT. I had my service books resend - the last courtesy of Cell C's inept Customer Care. I run diagnostic tests each time I notice that the BIS connection is down and have a large number of reports.

What else can I do before I bite the bullet and try Cell C's socalled Client care - my last bout took 6 weeks to resolve and a complaint at Hello Peter. I am somewhat reluctant to walk face first into that wall of incompetence.

I am in a full coverage are during daytime and at home - daytime is Bellville CBD. Access between 10:00-12:00, 14:00-16:00 and evening 18:00-20:00 is a joke.

From what I have read Cell C management does not regard this as a problem - but this is primarily the device that I need in emergency situations and if I cannot rely on my service provider to be professional I will have to take business elsewhere.

Help? Is there help?

Thanks
T

I have a cell c modem been using it a few years and all was fine but for the last 3 months or so it has been continuously been dropping the connection particularly at night it is very frustrating as I have a giganight package and am almost unable to use it!
I am in east London
techies have been here but couldn't even speak English properly I don't know what to do anymore!!!!

Dear Cell C, its been 5 months since I've logged Ref# 1730495.

I would like to inform you that the problem has not been solved, I test from time to time with hope that you would have fixed the problem, it is 20:19 and I can not open even google.co.za (I cant get emails WhatsApp or use any internet based apps).

I have used cell c data for about 4 years and for the most part never had problems at my current residence. If you have allowed you network to become over subscribed you should upgrade it.

Sent from my 8ta sim.

Location: Kenridge, Cape Town
Date & Time of Issue: 31/5/13; 12:00 - 13:30 PM
Device Manufacturer & Model: ZTE MF668
Contract Type (pre- or post-paid): prepaid (R1799 promo for Giga 200)
Existing reference numbers from Helpdesk: n/a
RAT (2G/3G/HSPA+): 3G
www.speedtest.net results (if possible): n/a (haven't tested)
Any other information relevant to the problem: sluggish, disconnects, failure to connect to remote server

If it isn't slow, then I'm getting disconnects, and if isn't that, I can't connect at all. Had a myriad of issues this afternoon.

I've had it with CellC. I bought a Giga200 last November and have barely used it because i get no throughput at all the places I frequent. This is in Ferndale, Strijdom Park, Boskruin, Woodmead. On top of not having 3G/H+, my normal phone also on CellC has been dropping calls, calls go through but no sound etc. These problems have always existed on CellC on the many phones I've owned but lately it's been happening very often whereas previously it was once in a while.

I'm seriously thinking of moving to Vodacon, it's way more expensive but most report that the network actually works.

Same in Durban - full signal no throughput. Frustrating!

PM the cellc Rep. I sent him a msg. he got the network tech guys to call me. I think the more people who send him info the quicker the issues will get sorted out. If you dont complain, they will assume all is working perfectly when its not

Same here Phoenix Durban
Cell C have become more like Hell C if u ask me.
Promise & Lies, smokescreen & mirrors.
I find it funny how they can even call themselves a Network Provider. They are in a real mess & dont know how to fix this S**t.

Why don't you move to a real 'network provider' then ?
