Cell C Network Issues: Disconnects, Coverage, Throughput Problems - Report Here

I constantly have connectivity issues with Cell C all across Johannesburg. Always. Every day.

I've been with CellC for well over 10yrs now, and have moved from the EC (where the signal was reasonably good) to CTN in 2008 (where the signal was barely average) to JHB in 2013 and I'm astounded at how poor the signal is here. I am unable to make calls from home in Broadacres and I'm unable to make calls from work in Roodepoort. It's also impossible to maintain a call on the way to work, as I get on average 4 call drops over the +-25KM's inbetween.

What's ironic is that my office is in the same business park as Huawei. The very people building Cell C's network.

@Cell_C. I've PM'd you the details. My contract is up for renewal this year and sadly I think this is the last.
 
i think cellc should just close down, their slow, outdated, hardly has good signal or any signal. USELESS network.

listen 8ta/telkom mobile im sick of the **** slow network of yours, youve been having for the last few months WTF have you done to your network? are you running on a 56k modem cos you had to give the equipment back to voda/mtn/cellc that you used to start tmobile/8ta? you want problem fixed? INSTALL FASTER NETWORKS FFS! use the money that is been robbed from us paying customers! no excuses! boss wants new BMW for new wife **** him, "they stole the cables" eh its wireless...problema?? FIX THE ****ING NETWORK! there is no more excuses
Maybe there is something wrong with your modem.
 
Kloofendal,Honey Heights , all hardware in excellent working order, sad to say Cell C has not had any throughput for the last 2 days,signal dBm 51 all connections made but no throughput.

Will probably port back to mtn on my next upgrade. Will use afrihost or vodacom for data connectivity
 
Type of service (pre- or post-paid): prepaid
Physical address, location or Coordinates: westrand Kagiso
Time of Issue: 30 march till today
Dongle / handset used, Make and Model: samsung s4 mini

almost a week without being able to use data
how long are these upgrades suppose to take,
since this is the information furnished to me by
cellc call centre agent saying cellc are currently
busy upgrading the johannesburg grid.

I know cellc network is not the best ....
but of late this is becoming a no service network...
reason ( calls that only come through as voicemail)

Please Cell_C leave me alone. I am just seeing my contract out and then I am gone. Really I have dealt with you and many of your technicians in the past and your connection still sucks. The last idiot technician that phoned me said that the upgrades have been done and I won't have any problems further. Your problems are not centerd in one area it is country wide. You pay less and you get less.

I am just using this forum to let people know to stay away from CellC. Your service shops and centers in Centurion are also useless.
 
Yeah, I'm also waiting impatiently for my 1 year data contract with Cell C to expire, so that I can get a contract with one of the other providers. It seems to be a case of "you get what you pay for". You pay less, you get less :(
 
Cell C is sooooooo bad in my area. Actually even contemplated leaving them... but who to run to? Apparently there's no Cell C infrustructure in my vicinity. Is there no way one could request that a tower be erected in one's area?
 
CELL C is one of the worst service providers I have ever had to deal with.

A) Signal is non-existent in my home - not going to follow the steps the operator tells cos you don't have to be a rocket scientist.
B) Frequent dropped calls due to weak signal or worst while driving dropped calls happen
C) Always their networking/data help desk will always lie and say they busy with network upgrades but nothing ever materialises

Closest base station from me is 2 KM line of sight
