Cell C Network Issues: Disconnects, Coverage, Throughput Problems - Report Here

CELL C is one of the worst service providers I have ever had to deal with.

A) Signal is non-existent in my home - not going to follow the steps the operator tells cos you don't have to be a rocket scientist.
B) Frequent dropped calls due to weak signal or worst while driving dropped calls happen
C) Always their networking/data help desk will always lie and say they busy with network upgrades but nothing ever materialises
So you have poor coverage at your house? That's hardly a reflection on Cell-C as a network provider in general.
Closest base station from me is 2 KM line of sight
2 Kelvin Megas? Is that very hot?

CELL C PLEASE FIX THIS

I've the same complaint, I have 5 Cell C devices and have been in the same location (5 years, Faerie Glen, PTA), suddenly all me Cell C signals are non- or almost non existent. MTN and Vodacom seem to work.

I run my business from my office, I'm thinking of taking Cell C to court for loss of in come.

Yeah vodacom has been the best Provider so far doubt cell c will do anything about it

BTW, been on the Cell C web site, they do not even give you a option to e-mail, just a line call, f**ck them and the horse they rode in on.

I must agree the last few weeks I have noticed a huge decrease in Cell C reception and quality.

I'm in Soweto and I can't even make a call. I thought I was the only one who was experiencing the problem, shame on you cellc

Well done Cell C.

The problems with my Cell C internet connection/access started last month. This while I had zero problems prior.

It is now the third week of having to deal with slow internet speeds (stuck on EDGE) or no service at all, despite having full reception. I am being sent from pillar to post and told that the problem is at my end, while it is not the case. I've tested, if it is not their DNS Server that is down then it is something else that is messed up at their end. All the Cell C users in my area are complaining about the exact same problems over the exact same time period. Cell C persists that the problem is at my end despite the fact that up to date they haven't sent anyone to investigate. In fact, each time I get a different story, but the consensus at their end is that the problem is at my end. This is despite the fact that 86 of the towers utilized by Cell C were recently sabotaged. This is according to one of their representatives.

If this is not sorted by Monday (14 April), I will make use of the process described in the Consumer Protection Act to give them 20 days notice of cancellation. If they make the mistake to penalize me in terms of the 5 months left on my contract, I will take them to the cleaners. The law makes it clear that we don't have to be stuck in a contract if the service provider fails to deliver, which is clearly the case here.

My advice to Cell C: You should stop wasting your time fighting for lower call termination rates and what have you if you cannot even get the basics right.

Me too. I can Whatsapp with text messages, but images doesn't load and won't go through. I also can't go on the internet or use other apps requiring an internet connection. Phone calls has poor voice quality and frequent interruptions.

A pity I bought a large data bundle from them...but as soon as I've used up the data I'm considering moving to a network provider with a proper network. I suppose you get what you pay for...

Please PM me street address and contact details. I will escalate to technicians for investigation. *DM*

According to the service call logged. The problem is mostly caused by terrain such as trees in the area. There is a planned site in the area, We are yet to confirm when it will go live. *DM*

Hi There,
I am in Fourways and also constant loosing signal, Is on and off, often misses important calls.
Then I had to sacrifice my data connection just to be online for Voice calls,
I changed my settings to Manual network selection and I selected Vodacom 2G , because CellC have roaming agreement with Vodacom but only for Voice.
Now I have stable connection all around. If I need Data I have to go again to Automatic network selection.. Its a hassle but serves me... Its so disappointing..
I wish can find an App that can do this switch by the touch of the shortcut- sililas as you switch WIFI or Bluetooth ..
Something as shortcut for Preset : Manual Vodacom... and Automatic.. but no luck so far about the app.. :-(
