Cell C Network Issues: Disconnects, Coverage, Throughput Problems - Report Here

I have been with Cell C for three years, all was fine till about January when clients complained that they can't get hold of me on my cell. Bought a new phone and that made no difference. Canceled my month to month contract and moving next week. My sister in Cape Town has been experiencing the same problems and moved to Vodafone.

Have you been reading the posts on this thread? Change to CellC at your own peril.

After reading this thread i have decided to hold off from cell c for now and on vodacom pre paid until someone gives me good prices and quality together

cellc data is dead in amanzimtoti now. not even cellc.co.za wants to load.

however, emails still come through. i've tried four different browsers and nothing happens on any of them.

According to the service call logged. The problem is mostly caused by terrain such as trees in the area. There is a planned site in the area, We are yet to confirm when it will go live. *DM*

This I have heard so many times ,I must pay my bill every month even there is no service, or can I also do a planned payment when I got service I still need to confirm when that will happened

Had the same issue yesterday whereby there was no throughput on the iPad. Thank goodness have redundancy or else I would have lost it.

They should rather have a network status page advising their customers of faults etc. Rather be transparent.

~Three months left on Cell C "data" contract. What a wonderful experience it will be to have to connectivity and throughput at the same time, all the time, when I want it.

The post by CellC is only relevant if you don't have any signal strength. In most cases there are full signal strength but no world wide web connectivity.

Hi All;

Anyone experiencing data throughput issues? Started yesterday and was in Midrand and as well as Menlyn today. both sites experiencing data throughput and signal strength issues.

Has anybody else been having issues with BIS? It hasn't expired yet, but its been going on and off every few minutes and its driving me haywire:mad: Can anybody tell me what to do to remedy this problem?

Cell C 3G connection recently deteriorated

I have had Cell C data for a few years now and always experienced good connection and speed. For the last month or so I struggle to connect and when connected I can't get to any websites or they are extremely slow. After several times of connecting and disconnecting I am eventually able to get decent speeds and get to websites. This is in Silverfields, Krugersdorp.

I had the same experience, logged a hello peter report and after about 3 weeks I was given this solution:

1) Set roaming to Vodacom
2) Change your network mode to GSM (This only gives you browsing at edge speeds).

Since then, my browsing has been slow because of edge, but at least I've had non stop connectivity since. Also, phone call quality is a lot better but I'm permanently roaming and still get charged 15c/mb.

Does a Cell C sim card work on a HSDPA modem at all? I've been trying to connect for days, it keeps disconnectin n sayin "connection error, please reinsert the modem..."

I have a similar problem, can connect to router and router says cell c is connected but can only browse intermittently. have upgraded firmware on dongle and router and swapped sims in case old sim was faulty. We used to have perfect connection but been terrible for past month. Please help
