Cell C Network Issues: Disconnects, Coverage, Throughput Problems - Report Here

Hi CellC,

Your technician has missed their second appointment to resolve my network issue.

-I've PM'd you my details

Get your act together please.

Is there any way one can request that a tower be erected in one's area if there isn't one already and that area is relying on far away tower for service which is already congested?

It took me 10 minutes to get in to mybroadband forum to post this reply. The problem we have here is that there are good service providers and there are bad service providers, there is 50 feet of crap and then there is CELLC.

Please if you read this don't give them your money. They don't deserve it. They may be cheap but that is exactly what you'll get in the service department. They will feed you a lot of BS to cover up their incompetence. Don't believe a word they say.

This is a ping to mybroadband's servers. I live in Centurion. And it gets worse.

Hi Cell_C

Now all I have are people from different departments contacting me. None of whom have any power to resolve my issue. Please escalate to the networks team, get them to send a technician (who arrives on time) and resolve my call quality/call drop issues. *Please*

Recently moved from East London to Cape town ( Brackenfell-home and Bellville- work) and all I can say is please do something about your network urgently. Cell C what is up with your networks in this area? Granted I had my ups and downs in EL, but eventually was able to live with it, but here it is pathetic. Are there any issues currently being resolved?

Good luck with having your issues fixed. The truth is, Cell C is a useless Network. Its been almost 18 months & Cell C subcribers here in Phoenix, North of Durban are still waiting for a decent internet connection. Its utter BS.

Ok so here are my results of reporting an issue on this thread:

2014-03-18 Issue reported to CellC rep with all details.
2014-05-28 Customer service contact me and arrange for a technician to investigate the issue. Technician doesn't arrive and resolves ticket.
2014-06-05 CellC promise to send another technician and they arrive at the wrong time.
2014-06-10 Apparently a technician was sent to the area (without contacting me) and performed tests. Who knows if this is true?
2014-06-12 I am contacted by a rep from the networks team and told that there is a known signal issue in the area. No plan to fix it.

End Result:
Customer reports bad signal. CellC f**ck around for +-three months. Tell customer they have bad signal.

Rinse and repeat for issues on this thread.

This Network congestion is getting out of control now!
For the past while now it used to only be during peak times but now it's happening all day.

Hi DM. Lately I've been having throughput issues in Bryanston around Shepherd drive, Cumberland road and Homestead drive

I have pretty much full signal (from what I've glanced at whilst driving) at 3G/HSPA but absolutely no throughput, lately I have been streaming my radio and it ALWAYS cuts out in this area, no data services work either

Full signal but jumping from HSDPA+ to HSDPA to 3G when trying to get throughput.

I end up having to reload every page 4 to 5 times before it loads when I am lucky. Most of the time I just give up.

What is going on this morning in Lyttelton, Centurion, CellC? Is the cold affecting your network speed? CellC is trying to provide first world technology, with third world service.

To get to mybroadband, I have to go through 24 hops. This could not be normal...well maybe for CellC it is. Unbelievable!

Hi Cell_C.

For the past 3 day we have no network in the Northcliff, Cresta, Linden, Albertville, Greymont, Bergbron, Triomf, Melville, Auckland Park. I can log on and 5 minutes later the network stop responding. No Throughput.
I phoned the Data support and done the same old routine: Unplug Router, Switch off router, Remove the Sim, put it back in, Plug the Router back in, Switch on the router, Try to connect.
If it does not connect, switch to Vodacom. For crying out loud, if I want to use vodacom that I will move back over to them. Also the vodacom tower here in our area is so overloaded that we can't switch to vodacom and I HAVE TOLD THIS TO THE TECHNICIANS EVERY TIME THAT I REPORT THE NETWORK.
Vodacom does not allow Cell-C to switch onto their tower here in this vally.

Is that all that this people know of to solve the problem.
Bryanston Epson Downs We have reported that there is nearly no Cell-C signal, Data and cell phone and the only excuse we get is that it sit in a very bad place due to the tower there that send its signal over the area and not reaching the building below.

What is going on with Cell-C. I am losing clients and my work is standing still.. The network I use for business and not just for fun. When will Cell_c take their clients serious?

Hey all

YES YES i know it's my own fault foir using Cell C - BUT - is anyone else experiencung NO CELLC coverage at the moment in JHB Central? I am in Simmonds street and I have NO cell C signal. I can see Vodacom and MYN but no CellC.

Any ideas?

Hmmm, at work we have no CellC reception, when I say no reception, I mean none, Sero, niks, etc. :)
Logged multiple calls with CellC, they sent techies, meters showed same, cell apps showed same, the moment they enter our doors, no signal - not ell, not 2 or 3 G, no edge, nothing !
btw
This is at the big green co in Pinelands
They then said I can cancel my contract with no penalties and they will just fetch the handset, so now it a month 4 and still nobody speaking to me,,,
Aah well

Regarding my post dd 2/7/2014 11 10
Generally CellC reception ok to good, so it is a pity they could not assist here where we at last count have about 3000 unhappy CellC subscribers in one building
