Cell C network promises: have they lied?

98% coverage, 3% throughput.

You got signal.....but cant do a thing with it.

Idiots! My data bundle i have is useless.

When Alan Knott-Craig joined Cell C, MYBB was a platform and mouthpiece for many of his announcements.
We users responded to the price reductions and moved to CELL C - taking friends and family with us

Now that the NO CONNECTION on full signal, account handling horrors and a non existent help desk are swirling around, the silence is deafening from CELL C

This is not good

Seems like they forgot to update their website. The fact that they not talking also is not a good sign.

LOL, as much as I am happy with the service I have received from Cell C (for the most part), 98% coverage is a lie. But- I do have better signal with them than I do the other SP's...

It feels like they are moving their transmitters to new areas and claiming to expand, but meanwhile the service to existing clients is deteriorating.

Their voice quality is horrendous. Had a few family members port their 084s onto Vodacom.

what is the point of the article?
Did they not respond or did they refuse to respond. Who did you talk to at cell c

same here, obviously a SNAFU where they forgot to update the website T&C's or had old ads running on the site. besides, 2G coverage would probably include the Vodacom coverage area.

D

I have zero issues with Cell C and data connectivity. What on earth are you on about? The value for money Im getting now from Cell C is far better than the total rip-off of VodaCON. Will never go back

I've seen the articles but I've yet to experience this issue...

All I know is CellC has pretty good coverage now, especially in the Freestate, that coverage map is pretty out of date though. I can pinpoint a few locations where I've been that have 3G coverage and isn't shown on the map at all.

I've also had pretty good experience with my CellC, most of the problems I had though was with either the software or the actual modem.

Worst decision I've ever made was to move away from MTN to Cell C.
I went from always having decent signal to never being able to use my cell at my home or office.
This is in the Bryanston / Epsom Downs areas.

I'm on Cell C. In the JHB CBD (Braamfontein) area, my phone shows that it has 3G signal, but I can't do anything. When I try to access Google, it just times out. Also, 80% of my calls never reach me and go straight to voice mail. The other 20% drop a few seconds after I pick them up.

SWAK Cell C! SWAK!

A relative had just the opposite, moving from MTN to Cell C greatly improved his voice quality.

I also have no MTN voice or data reception at my house in Illovo, Joburg.

I have problems with Cell C data, but MTN is much worse.

Vodacom is good, but who can afford that ?

No problem with Cell C here in Cape Town. Good voice, good data speed. Just wish they'd hurry up and extend their LTE coverage - I'm very keen to try it.

Cell C - You have failed this country

/ Points my bow and arrow at them with green mascara and a hood...

LOL, na im very impressed with the Cell C coverage and speeds at my house. 1 million times better than Neotel.
