keithr I get the same kinda results during the day from about 7am - about 4pm then at night they crumble....
to about a 2k speed. What tower are you on?

On the weekends my speeds are excellent... I just wish I could have those speeds during the week at night. So far
their only explanation is noise levels which I told them is a load of horse ****. Cuz at night their are no cars and
many business are closed... so yeah

I am on Tower 60 (woodmead)

I wonder what the problem is? Tower 50 feeds off tower 110 (Linksfield) which I understand is connected by fibre to somewhere I have not found out about yet
 
I think Sentech are scracthing their heads right now trying to figure out what is going on right now

Got home early about 5:30pm did a speed test for the sake of investigation.

every week day on the dot:

5:50pm -- 8.56 KBps
5:54pm -- 6.43 KBps
5:56pm -- 5.46 KBps
5.58pm -- 3.12 KBps
6.00pm -- 3.72 KBps

then it stays at about that speed the whole night its amazing...

I couldnt be arsed about waking up early to figure out when the speeds come right again...
but at about 8am they back at 9-10KBps.

Sentech's excuses:
Move my modem
too much noise at the tower

My explanation until someone can prove me wrong:
Obviously a big Sucktech boss lives near me and he demands to have as much
bandwdth during the night regardless of the other Sucktech users on the same
node which is why they got the BW profile software in the first place so they could
channel as much BW to Sucktech employers. (bosses of course)
I could be wrong... but the way Sucktech behave I wouldnt put it past them
clueless w.ankers.

Well, people can have their modems on and downloading during the day, but if you forget about that fact for an instant, remember, alot of people come home after a day's work, switch on their pc and internet connection at home and surf (or download)

That COULD explain it.... it also could be possible that there is noise... have you checked your signal strenght and noise at all during those times?

Then again, who knows...

Hell, my gran on a scooter with a memory stick is faster than Sentech's MyWireless!
 
My best friend and attorney is on mintec tower - he continuously complaine obout the Sentech k*k not workin with a 12% signal - I convinced him to install an antenna and to loose the USB interface and go ethernet.

This was after I tested that packet loss could be induced by walking in front of the modem.

Like me he is running rock solid now and is a happy camper.

I am convinced of one thing with this technology - crappy signal = crappy performance
 
btw, right now from one of my USA servers, I am able to download at 12.6 kB/s - that is as close to a 128 package than I could expect!
 
I understand the talk of people coming home and so forth... I agree... but like clock work every day 6pm speeds fall over.. Support says it could be that but should fall no lower then 8KBs... but then there are a lot of things
that should be that aint on the sucktech network...

I can not complain about weekends or in this case long weekends... cuz I get the speed 24/7
Only week days...

But Sentech are saying its weird and they are trying to find out why... suppose it is a weird thing.
The thing is it is only International speed. National is ALWAYS rock solid and for me always has been from
March 2004 since I got Sentech except the odd occasion.

I have a friend in Amsterdam and we often share music we make and upload and download from that server in Amsterdam... ON the weekend I get +/- 6Kb transfer (not the best server) in the week only at night I get +/-
1.5kB and loads of time outs...

So I dont know...

Overall generally speeeds are better though...

Still would like consistency... then Sentech would be my hero... er... well not really but you know

This is day 6 for me where 128k has been 100% (12.x for local and international)

I am now running the tcpiq line speed meter to monitor bandwidth as well as my manual testing
