Plot the speed over time. That is the only way to see if there is an issue. Even if you just create a account on speedtest.net and run the tests by hand every now and then.

I switched to VOX from 8 to 12 just to see if I could get a straight line like coop has.

I think I am done. I will stick to VOX for now as I get the beset results on the Openserve network and it is not too expensive.

My results over the weekend, I see some dips here and there.
Included my smokeping for the past 30 hours.

I'm going to stop my tests now - let me know if you need any other data or if you want me to use your script to log the data instead.
I've uploaded my csv results to pastebin if you want to have a look at the raw data:

https://pastebin.com/ADQVzSTw

Average across the tests comes out to 88.38mbps down and 87.05mbps up.

I'm getting the same problems discribed here, I've mostly been using WebAfrica since I've gotten my fibre and then swapped to Afrihost.(in the process of looking at alternatives)

On WebAfrica local speedtests would be fine/close to 100/50 but as soon as I hit international it would die.
Local: http://beta.speedtest.net/result/5653598158
Int: http://beta.speedtest.net/result/5653605544

Then I started using Afrihost and it became much more stable, but that soon changed as well.
Local: http://beta.speedtest.net/result/5689568607
Int: http://beta.speedtest.net/result/5689574356

Examples of my Hell:
Int Afrihost: http://beta.speedtest.net/result/6058136554
Int WebAfrica: http://beta.speedtest.net/result/6058151018
Local Afrihost: http://beta.speedtest.net/result/6271179380
Local WebAfrica: http://beta.speedtest.net/result/6400672881

It was intermittent and would sometimes drop as well, but it was all over the place.
I'm a streamer and having a stable upload is very important for me so these drops are entirely unacceptable.

We haven't done anything directly, Our burst capacity usually starts at 6PM and ends at 6AM, so more than likely something to do with that. Ironically 6AM is when we disable our burst capacity. We are changing this whole system in the next month as well.

I’m sure there is some truth to it, but it can’t be the excuse for every issue.

Local traffic doesn't get affected. Still wireless related I suspect.

Dynamic medium, ISPs will never accept wireless tests, especially to mobiles.

Understand that, but if I know my environment and did numerous tests with and without cable and its the same, then I know if my phone has a bad test, it would be the same on my cable.

I had a Zyxel Business grade router, and the wifi were the bottleneck, then I went and bought a new one for the wifi perfomance.(dual band with beam forming tech)

I get that I cant log a call with a wifi result, but it give me an Idea if the line perform or not.

Have +\- 170 wifi networks arround me, and still I get good results most of the time, and last week bad results from 4pm to 11pm and then it goes back to 90/90. And the phone and the cable test give similar results time after time.

I would love to understand what the difference out there is between last two weeks and after Friday with no issuses till now.

Are you getting 200 Mbps on a 100 Mbps line ?? If so why are you complaining lol !!!

We are back to the slow pings btw. From 6 PM the pings are slow again.

Will see how our burst and 3rd path might affect pings, at that point is basically a 3rd path that comes online for additional capacity.

It doesn't matter unfortunately, if you have packetloss and slight latency over wireless this has a major effect on international traffic. Also most mobile devices aren't designed for higher throughputs. What does your mobile do with 100Mbps?. Cable is the only sure way of testing a service. Fibre to the home not wireless to the home :).

Yeap looks like our burst is going over eassy which is incorrect, hence the increased capacity over every 3rd ping.

Wait so is this a graph of his ping over 17 hours and CI's ping gets hinky during peak time?

Sigh, I thought fibre would get rid of this rubbish. As a gamer this is a huge bummer.
