Hi,

I purchased the cell c data stick a little while ago where you get 2 gigs per month for a year. I took the sim card out and stuck it in my new Samsung Galaxy 10.1. It works beautifully.

Does anyone know how I can check the balance of my data on the galaxy device itself?

On the pc, you can use the cell c connection manager, but on the galaxy there is no such thing.

Thanks

No, dont think it does. There is no where to type it in. Does not make calls. Perhaps there in an app available. Will have to do some searching.

I also have the same issue. The 10.1 Tab can't send USSD by default but has anyone tried one of the USSD apps successfully?

@Madhawk, thanks, I can use the cell c website for now to track my data usage.

I would love a widget that can auto refresh every now and then to display on my screen. There is a russian widget, but only for Russia.

@Marlboro, if you come across any apps or widgets that can help us out, please let me know and I will do the same. I suppose I could always write my own using the android ussd api, but that would just take way too long....id rather use the cell c website :-)

Hi all

Same issue here with MTN - Got the Galaxy 10.1 on a 2Gb 3G contract.

After hours of searching, there are several really nice apps that can monitor 3G usage..BUT... None of them are compatible with android 3.1...

Software installs fine, but can not seem to monitor the 3G data usage. They all seems to be able to monitor WiFi though.

If anyone finds an app to monitor data, please let us know :-)

If anyone found an app to monitor 3G data for the s.s.g.t 10.1, please let us know.

In the meantime I use mtn's website (https://www.mtn.co.za/MyMTN/MyInternetAccount/Pages/default.aspx) to check my usage on my pc. Initially, you have to register online with the cellphone number of your tab, wait for a pin number to be sent to your tab via sms, then finalise registration and log in.

Annoyingly, if you visit this site on your tab, you get re-directly to the worlds most annoying site "MTN play". To avoid the redirect, do the following on your tab:
-install firefox (mobile) on your tab
-in firefox, search for add-on's and install "Phony"
-now, in firefox's settings, change the "User Agent" setting to "Internet Explorer"

Firefox Mobile will report itself to the MTN website as a normal I.E browser, letting you access the link above and check your bundle, without the forced redirection to MTN play!

There may be other simpler ways to set the "user agent" of the built-in browser, or other 3rd party browsers, but this was the first and only option I bothered tried.
