Well if you getting 50% germination with Peppadogs seeds then There is definitely a issue with germination technique. Peppadogs seeds are top notch and tested continuously for germination rates. Instead of shoving it off as "bunk" rather mention the cultivars and your method used to germinate. Im more than happy to assist you and even do a viability test on any cultivars you state are "bunk" and compensate you if true. In 8 years ive never had anything less than 80% germination on any Peppadogs seeds so feel free to accept my assistance.

@semaphore is angry at the world. I most definitely wouldn't offer advice as he knows all and will strike out at anybody thinking otherwise,

I have had above 80% germination with both Peppadogs and Chillihead and have had some great harvests from both.

Some of my favorites from my current grow pictured with my grow helper. Reapers from Peppadogs, Bhut Jolokia from Chillihead and a killer Birdseye I got from a padstaalitjie in the middle of nowhere in the Eastern Cape.

As the grow season here in EU is shorter am running these hydroponically using Plagron nutes which seems to be all the rage up here rather than my usual time consuming aged living soil. Got an autopot setup which will be their final home as I need to travel for days on end at a drop off a hat.

Flowering and fermentation pics to follow..

Sorry, I didn't see this as I don't have notifications turned on. But I already threw the seeds away.

But you'll have to forgive me. I've bought tons of Chillihead seeds over the years and had exceptional germination rates, yours unfortunately just did not - if you want to claim I don't know how to germinate, so be it. I even used gibberellic acid to try help the stubborn ones, but nothing.

Checkers have these at R20 for 2 on special.

It's like the cheap version of Tabasco. Not a bad flavour though. Not that spicy so I tend to pour more.

I like the green one. Bought 4 bottles last week and one is finished already.....

I only have the red one, but find it a bit like watered down tabasco.

On a side note. I was a Noag's market this weekend. They were going to have a Hot Wings challange, but were also offering tasters of the hot sauces they were using. "Jissie Sussie" hot sauces, I only had the Gifappeltjie (very fresh, like fresh chilli taste) and the Sonstraal reaper (not much flavour). I should have tried the other sauces but had an empty stomach.
 
A friend of mine makes the tastiest chilli jam I've ever eaten.
He normally just uses an old-fashioned variety called Pulegium (spelling) but last year he made a batch using some ripened Serano Long.
Those Serano Long Chillies made great chilli jam.

They were selling 2 largish bags of Jalapenos for R30 at Food Lovers last week.
I thought that was a bargain, took 2 and we had them pickled.

Motherfucker! I figured they'd have leftovers at the Braaimaster today. I got 6wings and they asked me what to baste them in so I said" "the hottest thing you have."

I can't feel my face.

I also got some of these a while back on special. Not bad. Definitely not as spicy as Tabasco.
