So where are you living now LeeStone? A place where there is no corruption like say Denmark? Or a place where corruption is normal and sometimes institutionalized and legal like the USA? Just wondering...

Yeah it is a catch 22 isn't it? But the truth is, maybe, just maybe if SA didn't have these corrupt bastards in power, any election would be likely more valid and believable.
Oh yeah, there have been many constitutional amendments. And changes to the laws to favor a particular race group in regards to specific matters. No I am not talking about AA or BEE at all, so lets not go down that road.
I really don't care about what has changed and I probably would fail if you guys had to test me on it, but back when I left, I already couldn't accept how the ANC had fixed the laws to make people of color have more rights than the minority groups. The current gun laws, which I heard about yesterday are a really good example- They've made it really hard for the gun owning public to own a gun legally. Why? To make it easier for their cronies who commit crimes to rob, mug, rape and murder. They know that the criminals have guns and get them easily, so they've come up with this brainwave laws to disarm the public further to help their comrades in their criminal pursuits.
The ANC has a big issue with armed white people... in general they have a problem with white people, but they have a bigger problem with:
- wealthy white people
- armed white people
- educated white people
All three cases constantly called "bigots", "racist whites" and other labels...
ANC Election results
94 = 63 %
99 = 66,35 %
04 = 69,69 %
2/3 rds is 67% needed... which they fell just short of ... in 94 & 99 ... where do you get 10 years
2ndly... talk about what you know to be fact dumb ass (imo)... they were part of assembling the constitution... as there were many parties involved
Any changes so far to the constitution before 2004 has had to be passed with support from any other political party
And they would have changed more... had the ANC not been too busy trying to fix all their K*K.... IMO...![]()
Sorry, my mistake, I included the 66,35%. If I remember correctly, in 2002 around 80% of the National Party members crossed to the ANC, giving them the 2/3 majority.
Corruption is everywhere, except in SA it is outta control and used to better the ends of the evil overlords to an extent where the country falls to pieces.
BTW, thanks for the interesting stats, I didn't know that. And note it is genuine interest I am expressing in the posted statistics, geez South Africans are such paranoid conspiracy theorists.
By the way, you are defnitely all doomed. All african governments go the way of the flusher, sooner or later.

Still classic! And still think each vote counts.
Okay. Found this article and i know it`s a mile long but here goes.
-----
First of all, I no longer have the right to vote, I no longer have any right at all in SA. None! I am no longer a resident or a citizen.
Now that we have that outta the way, lets get down to squaring this off.
If you think 7 million are opposed to the ANC, think again. And so what if 7 million have a different vote. The ANC will then resort to them good old tactics of rigging the election, just like Robert Mugabe and countless others.
This country is already a hell-hole dude. Why do you think I left, for my good health and my ass? My rights were already being trampled up when I left. The country was given away to the ANC back in 1994. So what, they call the shots here, they f*cked this place up beyond all manner of sanity.
I of course do understand this concept and it works dude, it works elsewhere, maybe at home and perhaps even in Europe, Australia and elsewhere, but not here, where corruption is considered normal.
It is interesting you mention ZA should stand for something. What is that? Do tell us all.
Why? They've had a 2/3 majority for 10 years, why should something happen after this election specifically?
Besides, all polls show that the ANC will lose it's 2/3 majority this time around...
I agree with you, it is all a set up. My beef is with those who think that their puny vote will make this huge difference and somehow stop the evil that is the ANC. To me that is pure delusion.
Why should I have concern for the population. Explain that one to me plse.
I have concern for my family, thats about it, so why should I be concerned about the SA population?

My opinion is go out there and vote for any opposition party, whether you agree with 0% of their policies, as your vote will be a vote for democracy. A democracy can not function effectively when the ruling party has no accountability - if the ANC gain 2/3 majority this will be the scenario. Accountability, no matter where it comes from will keep the government in line and ultimately become the tool of the people.
WTF, seriously dude
China sucks man, I wouldn't even go there, let alone live there.
Strength in numbers is one thing, as I said earlier, it doesn't help in SA 'cos the ruling party is greedy and power hungry, they'll rig it. So it achieves nothing, and those who choose not to vote, should get some sort of defense, against scores of people calling 'em traitors and God knows what else, besides being told "not allowed to complain". Which leads me to the next point. What is the f*cking big deal about being able or not able to complain? Complaining means nothing, at least in SA, the ANC throws a deaf ear to it.
Oh yeah, I am not worried, but I know of several south africans that should be worried then, seeing that karma works here in SA. Considering how I was treated by South Africans, when I lived here- now that I want nothing to do with them and found myself a country where I get respect, they go all karma on me. That's rich dude.
And so that you know, it is bite, not bit.
Indeed this is so, but that guy above is just trying to bait me into flaming him, thats all, he's just picking a fight.
I never said I am living in a bubble or imposing isolation. I just don't care about SA population, as much as you lot probably don't care about the population in Turkey, Afghanistan or any other country.
Yeah, now if you're unsure thats all fine and dandy. I fail to see how it can be either careless to choose not to vote, or being negatively pessimistic. How the **** can you not be pessimistic when this country is going to hell?
Denial is only a feeling, and a government that has been labeled as secretive, you do the math.
I am looking forward to sparring with you on this forum. Ultimately I will out-argue you on every count, as you are living in a dream world, and probably- I guess, dunno, haven't set foot off this continent, so all you have to go on is the "wonderful life" in SA
