Chrome vs Firefox

I'm trying to download Chrome to try it out, but the install files I got from both google.com and Softonic initiate a Google Earth download???

that could be the google update manager kicking in.
it's the default installer for the google software suite including chrome and google earth.

last time i checked, chrome didn't have the full version of firebug.
does it have a full featured weave-style bookmark, history, password and tab sync?
does it have user scripts interface like greasemonkey?

I got a performance browser so I went chrome. Where Chrome is Veyron Firefox is a train.

Chrome is nice, but I have to give my FTW Vote to Firefox, granted , it's slower to start than Chrome, but once FF builds steam, it's unstoppable, - the add-ons - unrivalled, themes - jaw dropping variety, development? - HIGHLY active.

I DO use both, but each has their strong suits, and weaknesses. Instead of comparing the horns of these two browsers, rather have them be on a team, against IE and Opera...

Im a Firefox Fanboy recently converted to Chrome.

Agreed.

Chrome is exceptional on Windows 7, but it looks like IE 9 wants to take back the crown. :)

You use your Mazda Mx5 (chrome), I will stick with my (new) Chevy Camerio (FF)

I always get the Firefox users excited when I ask them "so, which add-ons do you use?" and then just keep quiet for the next 40 minutes.....well, sometimes they're still talking when I decide to take my leave. LOL *runs*

So which is best? From what I've seen in this thread it's very slightly leaning towards FF.

Is it a case of...

FF
Slow with variety
Chrome
Fast but limited ????????

Can someone explain in layman's terms what's what, 'cause I'm not sure whether I should change from FF to Chrome or not.

I think you should try out Chrome for yourself and see what you think of it.

I tried it and found it much more responsive and less bloated than FF and I've never looked back. And I was a bit of a FF fanboi at one stage!

There were one or two add-ons that I could not find replacements for but it was no train smash.

It does seem like the add-ons ,or the lack of,is normally the only issue concerning Chrome.

I have had some small problems with both Chromium and FF, but I use FF 99% of the time, it is a browser I know and the plugin support is second to none, at least till FF8.
:-/

I use Chromium on my Netbook since it is supposed to be more lean than FF, but FF doesn't perform too bad on my desktop PC (2500 with 8Gb ram).
