Clarity on 3GB bundle valid for 365 days

Tried to buy the 3GB virtual voucher yesterday, but the Cell C store in Greenstone and Eastgate Mall both were out of stock.

They have to wait over 24 hours to receive more stock on their system. The lady behind the counter said that this voucher sells very well.

It's a pity you can only buy it from a Cell C store. I would've like to buy this voucher over the internet or USSD like normal data bundles.

The Big issue is that it's a promo and not a standard product.
So to re-write the USSD platform very time a new promo comes out,
would not be viable. If we do decide to keep it. I,m sure will put option on USSD.
I will take it up about the shortage of stock in the stores.

It should just be a case of adding or removing an item, no need to rewrite the whole thing every time.

This blows my mind. How can they be "out of stock" of a virtual voucher? Happens to me often with the All-In-One vouchers too.

Its takes a bit longer with vendors.

That is true, and this really need to be addressed, with the stores.
As they own it, once they sell out its up to them how much and what they want to stock up with.
As long as they start every month with the correct amount rest is in their hands.

You currently cannot get it through USSD, only option is to visit a Cell-C store and get a printed voucher.

I have loaded it on a normal Cell-C SIM as well as on a Cell-C 12x2GB promotional data SIM. I don't know about contract though.

How lazy does a company have to be, to not put that offer on an electronic procurement platform?

How dumb (or arrogant) does a company have to be, to imagine that I'm going to drive to a CellC shop and wait for some useless assistant to stop chatting to his/her mates and sell me a voucher?

It is valid for one year, so if you do it once a year... I can afford it at least. It looks it is the last great data promotion left, what else do I have?

The only reason I'm checking here, is I saw the deal advertised for R399. I dial *147# to get to Data Bundles, and see it's R400, which makes me wary enough to can the transaction and check here. Turns out I'd have a fight on my hands had I bought the R400 3GB bundle :mad:

How can the cheaper one be better? And WTF is wrong with their USSD menu? Do I now need to drive to a store, and kill the environment in about 10 different ways just to load a data bundle?

Having ported recently from MTN, I'm used to uselessness, but this confusion should be cleared up.

Anyway, off to a store I go. Woe betide them if they "have no stock" :sick:

This promo was going for number of months. With other promo it didn't give any problems. Now, when it is the only one left, it becomes a hudge problem. Irrational behaviour or unloading grieviances which are somewhere else?
 
Cell C seriously need to catch a wake up with the purchase options for this voucher.

I went to the Canal Walk store last night to buy one. For starters the fact that I have to go to a physical store to buy a printed voucher is already asking a lot. When I get there and the person behind the counter tells me they have no stock and will only be loading new vouchers on the 1st of April you can forget about my business. :mad:

Try the Checkers at Canal Walk, I'm not sure about the 3GB/365 vouchers, but they are able to print the R49 all-in-one vouchers.

@Cell_C: Why can't these bundles be purchased through USSD or on the self-service website?
