CoCT`s crap solar policy.

I see this as more red tape that is in the way of solar uptake. I expect to not being forced to pay for additional requirements just because it is CoCT. The entire CoCT solar policy is proudly socialist (self proclaimed!) and is a complete failure. People in the Cape are sitting in the dark and not buying solar systems.
If people are sitting in the dark, it's not because of any red tape. If you can't afford the optional fee that installers charge you to do the registration, chances are you can't afford a proper solar system. Stop being poor...

So then do the registration yourself buttercup... its not rocket science you know.

Oh and people in CoCT are sitting in the dark less than the rest of the country, so maybe pull up your socks for once and commend CoCT for doing something right hmmm?

I am thinking of moving away from CoCT. I can afford the fee and a solar system, but the CoCT solar policy leaves me with 0 trust in them. Best would be to move away and go off-grid completely for water and electricity.

Be careful where you move to... many municipalities won't allow you to go completely off-grid, regardless of what you want.
