iPad > PCs

Apple sold more iPads last quarter than any computer manufacturer in the world sold PCs.

Um.

The iPad requires a PC to do anything

Other tablets are far closer than being stand alone than an iPad. I feel dragging my desktop with me incase I need to transfer photos, music or other media. I'll also want that desktop incase I need to update or actually download something. I'll also need to run Handbrake or something to convert files to whatever 'i' devices understand

They should rather had left out the battery totally because it needs to be tethered to iTunes to actually make it useful

If Apple says it's so, then omg it *has* to be true!

Who here has ever bought a "pc"? I sure haven't.

I've bought tons of pc components though.

Let's also not forget all the individual parts sold that can easily combine to form a pc. Saying tablets outsold pc's is beyond misleading and MyBB should be ashamed of flamebaiting.

And in other news PC's outsold tablets 10:1.

Couldn't have said it better myself. This article is so biased with the sensationalist headline yet self defeating when they present the weak stats of brand vs brand instead of iPad > PC (which is the true comparison).

Android FTW which is annihilating the iPad in sales. Lets go tablet vs tablet here. Compare Apples with apples (c wut i did thar?).

This article is garbage...

its like comparing the sales or motorcycles to cars...

fire this writer seriously...and according to this guys comparison there are still more PC sales globally.

A tablet cannot perform the functions of a proper PC, so why try to compare them?

I sort of get it. I look at people like my mother who, instead of getting a new computer this year, has decided that she'd rather have an iPad and hold on to the laptop she has. Given the price of these tablets and the economy being in the state its in a lot of consumers must be making the same decision.

How much did your mum pay for the iPad? You can get a better spec PC for R2500. If price was the factor, people would go for PC. (and they are: 200mill PCs vs 15mill iPads sold in 2011) Can't really compare the two since has it's own purpose.

I presume she'll pay about $600 for the new iPad but you missed the point. She doesnt need or want a better spec'ed pc, she has a laptop, but instead of upgrading it she's decided to hold on to it and go that route instead.

Oh ok, I thought you said she got an ipad in order to save cash. There's no cash saving there.
