I thought that it would be a good idea to start a thread were we could post good experiences that we've had with computer shops, online stores and anyone that sells computer hardware and software.

Matrix Warehouse Centurion: They were helpfull and willing to do research and find price for some difficult to find hardware. There was none of that "we don't stock that. sorry..." (Posted by vinodh)

Evetech Centurion: I needed a mini htpc case that used a normal ATX PSU and Micro-ATX board. They understood exactly what I wanted and had it available immediatley. Brilliant service. (Posted by vinodh)

Landmark PC: Excellent service, excellent advice, always tries to obtain the products as soon as possible or provide alternatives -if said product is no longer available - excellent prices and just a good general all-round "shopping" experience. (Posted by Sl8er)

I've had exceptional service from both Prophecy Shop and WootWare.

Like Prophecy shop collected both of my graphics cards for free and I then had it replaced for 2 better cards (I paid for the difference though).

Hey Pada, can you tell me what was wrong with your gfx card? What was the turn around time in getting your replacement? Did they test it and then replaced? Sorry for the questions, just need some advice while we are on the subject of pc retailers :).

In short: I bought 2 GTX 460 768MB models from Prophecy Shop - with like 2 months in between - and they had different coolers.
The second one, non-reference design, was extremely noisy. It took me quite a while to get help from Inno3D's international support, which took me nowhere.
Luckily Prophecy Shop offered to collect both cards and sent the cards to the local Inno3D guys to do the testing, and eventually it came out that the fan was indeed faulty.
They then refunded me in full for both cards.

All-in-all it took just more than 1 month.

Prophecy Shop - I ordered a few things from them around middle January and everything was delivered the next day, just one item was not included that they didn't have in stock. It was 5 x 3m CAT5e cables. They notified me before shipping the order and gave me an ETA when they expected the cables to be in stock. They then notified me that the item would not be in stock anymore and then allowed me to change to a randed CAT5e cable which was more expensive at no extra cost! Then later that same day they notified me the branded cable was no longer available. I think it was a guy named Henk who then told me he would get cable and plugs and make the cable for me himself. 2 days later the cables were delivered. It was quite some time after the original order but it was out of Prophecy's hands and the effort Henk put in to get me sorted was great. I will not hesitate to use them, fantastic service and they keep you updated constantly on the status of the items. :)

Incredible Connection Menlyn Park(Yes, really) - I have bought a few things over the years at this store from the same person. So it's more this person in particular. Tommie from IC Menlyn has always helped us in any way he can. If he didn't know something he bent over backwards to find out and assist us. I would really suggest if you go to IC Menlyn to ask for him in particular.
 
Excellent service from Wootware, Prophecy and Sybaretic. i was particularly impressed with Wootware on the way they keep you informed of your order

Another positive for Incredible Connection!

I bought a laptop for R9500 with trade-in a week ago and the price dropped this week to R8500. Went there today and without any kind of hassle they refunded me the R1000!

I'm really impressed since they could have easily said "You agreed to the purchase price by buying the latop".

Been doing it for three years, I definitely won't be disappearing.

I'm in Cape Town, so for peace of mind in terms of after-sales service and speedy swap-out, I would first and foremost recommend you get your parts in Jo'burg.

+1 for PostmanPot.

Got my entire rig from him. Quick delivery time ( altho i do stay around the corner from him ;) ) and any part faults is handled with immediately and replaced

A Quick input from my end...

+1 for PostmanPot from my side too. After countless run-arounds with online and walk-in retailers (some who are still getting back to me by the way with an ETA on stock) it was suggested I check with PostmanPot for some assistance.

Well, not only could he get the stock, he could get it at the same price and even cheaper than the others including delivery.

From a PM enquiry yesterday to delivery this morning, for items that the big boys are still getting back to me with an ETA on.

Matrix Warehouse... if you plan to ignore my emails, kindly do not send out read receipts, all 6 times!
Also, if I enquire about DUAL channel RAM, please do not send me TRI-Channel kit quotes.
OR if I accept your quote for a GIGABYTE board, do not invoice me for an ASUS and tell me it is the same thing!
