I am considering moving over from ADSL to the Telkom LTE-a package, 200GB / month. Site test positive, around 20MBS. However, can I get out of the 24 month contract period if the speed is not an improvement or if the connection is not stable? Thanks, Martin

I'm on the uncapped promotion and it is very very good. Pings are better than I have with adsl (which I should cancel now). Steam downloads peak at 6megabyte not bit per second. I imagine it as close as it gets to fibre. So maybe also get an external antenna and your speed would be even better.

Do you guys know what documentation is required for somebody to take this out?
Is it exactly like a cellphone contract?

3 months bank statements.Latest Payslip, proof of residence etc?

They will charge you an R800 cancellation fee. I'm not sure if it has gone up though, this was from a few years ago.

Spend an extra R1000 for your own router and get it as a monthly option. 24 month internet contract is absurd.

Does that apply to the month to month agreement as well?
A cancellation fee for month to month?I got a modem at Edgars earlier

Just check the specifics with Telkom but in most cases a monthly option you should be able to opt out of with a months notice at no extra cost. That's how it currently works with my afrihost account.

Then it's not bad, even if it has gone up a bit from then

Definitely go the month to month option on this and buy the hardware rather. Tying up 24 months in any data contract now is mad given how things are changing.
Im using Telkom LTE and my address isnt even covered by LTE on their coverage map and i have to admit im pretty happy. 100GB for R699 per month is not bad at all....
