I was hoping that since some of us make apps every now and then, that we could make it freely available for download. We could post the info and download links here. What do you think? I know that Keeper is working on some kind of media application and Fanix just completed an ADSLChecker. IIRC, Linoman is working on some Ubuntu project. If you guys are willing to, post your info here. The following structure is recommended:

• App name
• Version
• % Completed
• Man hours spent

• Description

• Bugs fixed

• Known limitations

• To do

• Download link

I made a stupid app that was called "Free coffee holder"

Once executed the cd/dvd would open :p

Also made a encryption like app that would encrypt words but didn't get around to the decryption part of the app:(

Perhaps we should start by suggesting a good place to upload the apps first? ;)

Lol, now stop postwhoring and get back to work! :p

It can be anywhere, as long as it is made available for download.

Not a program but iv been busy working on an engine modification for NFS4 (for 3 years now and its still very far from complete (and i will probably never complete it) as the nfs 4 engine has extreme limitations such as limited poly support (it cant render more than 100 000 polys in a scene, more than that amount crashes to desktop, DX7 renderer  ! Damn infact nothing works yet except the Hidef horizon, sky and texture support which looks a bit nicer but still looks crap due to the engine limitations and is very resource intensive, very minor lighting improvements (that occured by accident BTW) ! Added bink video support (did that first cause i wanted to make my own intro video) also Added mp3 support but only supprts one song at a time as the game crashes after more than one song is loaded ! Bugs still have to find a way to re enable 3d sound (deleted a line by accident) also screwed up something with the ai as they're driving into walls and into each other, they dont follow the default ai path's anymore (I really dont know why - since i didnt screw around with that at all) ! maybe i'll post a screenie later

Wrote a countdown app once that sat on your desktop and game you the no. of secs until the end of the day, with the option of shutting your box down :)

also busy with a security app that you can run remotely on users desktops looking for illegal files, mp3, avi, vobs etc etc - also dumps the browsing history/temp files/ browser cache to a central location which is encrypted which can be used for forensics.

It can also scan machines for file shares that aren't well protected - full access etc.

3months and 90% of the way.

• Name
Linobuntu
• Version 2
• 35% Completed
• Man hours spent 80 hours (as it continues from version 1)
• Description of software
Customized version of Ubuntu 8.10. Aimed to deliver a better and more feature rich out of the box experience.
• Fixed Bugs so far
Grub boot loader over writes Windows NT loader; Playing audio crashes the system; KDE applications crash once being launched; Blue-tooth does not work; General system stability issues.

•Limitations
Certain applications can not be included due to licensing issues. To use the software legally must check the law in your own country. Themes continue to be an issue.

• Still to do
Complete the project, with adding the additional applications. Fix remaining bugs. Theme (new skins etc). Port a 32 bit version as it currently is only 64 bit.

• Download coming soon

Great idea on Project HQ ... I'm looking for something like that to centralise all my future projects I wanna do with DA. How long do you think before you have a stable release :) ... I'm downloading python now to try and use it ... but I've got 0 experience with Python, so may take me some time :p

edit: Ok, no idea what I'm doing ... can someone please tell me how to execute the .egg file :p
