Has this latency changed at all? Can you post a trace again? And here I am just wishing I didn't have to run a VPN to get lower than 360ms to Germany..
We are Cape Town so from your post only seems JHB has changes made?Has this latency changed at all? Can you post a trace again?
It would actually be seacom but would hairpin for now via JHB.I see some of the routing seem to be going via KZN then assuming EASSy instead of WACS

Yeap correct. We are Cape Town so from your post only seems JHB has changes made?
Yea cogent still sending this traffic all the way to Brazil it looks likeYeap correct.
Hi, I had a look, it isn't copy paste answers we logged the fault with the FNO accordingly. MFN actually have a 5 working day SLA. Until that lapses we can't escalate as an ISP.@PBCool

Lack of urgency and copy & paste responses seems to be in order at the end of the day.
Yes so as mentioned CPT hasn't changed as yet, our LINX port should be coming back up this week after moving DCs in London. We will then have a bit more control over this sort of thing.
Yeah this is definitely FNO's having issues, I have been busy this afternoon with customers changing their routing etc around as we also had some weird stuff starting to flap etc. Some FNOs seem to be battling today as well, let's please try treat issues independently vs assuming it's all related to the same thing![]()
Hi Blaine. As discussed - line is up and running. I have also responded on the ticket.Still nothing..
Hi there, our teams have requested feedback from the FNO. Will update soonest, provided that we get an update. When will you have update on this?

Date: 07/12/2022 @ 13:13 PM
Suspected Area/s affected: Randburg and Centurion
Fibre Networks affected: OpenServe
Suspect Impact: Customers on the above fibre lines in the above areas will experience no connectivity.
Cool Ideas network engineers along with OpenServe engineers are currently investigating.

It seems like it may be resolved, we have to log independent line downs. So probably worth logging it for me.When will you have update on this?

Sorry you feel that way, how so?
Yes well we will mention if we are making changes, the impact today was mostly due to FNO issuesI have had niggly issues with random disconnects, Netflix was even buffering on a 500/200 line earlier today but with all the load shedding going on and changes you are making would imagine things could only get better. On Home-Connect I was having major problems with evening peaks and the network was certainly not as responsive as now on Cool Ideas. A bit of give and take I guess.
Latency is 177ms from JHB via New transit, so something wack with Cogent clearly.
