*** DAY 5 of no service from both PBCool/CISP and Vumatel ***

still ****ty performance and the worst aspect, apart from very poor internet performance is that if I don't chase for updates, I don't get any feedback.
Never thought I would say this, but I should have stayed with WebAfrica.

@PBCool - what is the downgrade procedure and it is effected immediately from a billing perspective.
Also, what is the cancellation process.
Hi there, I have feedback from Vumatel that they were going to reach out to you yesterday? Clearly this didn't happen.

PB any issues? Streaming is dead slow damn terrible
25 Meg metro fiber
MFN did have a fibre break yesterday that was affecting certain customers. I will follow up and see if it's been resolved as yet.

I'm seeing intermittent connection issues / extremely slow throughput to sites behind CloudFlare and Fastly; any idea what's up?

Akamai too; also while trying to post this I got a CloudFlare connection-to-origin error from MyBB itself.

CrystalWeb reports problems at NAPAfrica, I guess it might be related to that? http://network.crystalweb.co.za/incidents/5pr3j1k128ml

What DNS servers are you using? If CISP's DNS, Akamai is on CISPs network and therefor shouldn't be affected by NapAfrica. That said, it looks good to me:

Can confirm, having issues here too. Traceroute doesn't show anything useful, but having problems loading sites in multiple places, even locally.

I'm using CISP DNS. The connectivity to the CDN nodes is fine, but connecitivity from the CDN nodes to the origins seems to be borked. Having intermittent trouble loading GitHub, Twitch static content, Steam website, etc.

Could be something else on the internet happening in London, affecting all those cluster's upstream traffic.

When I do a traceroute from EC2 in Ireland to the CISP Akamai server on 154.0.14.9 I see routes flapping in the London area around LINX.

If there are issues causing traffic getting rerouted on regular intervals, that will cause lots of random issues too, like you guys describe.

I had issues this morning with Twitch static content as well as Office 365 (in particular Outlook) as well. Seems to have calmed down now.

Quick question - I cancelled Telkom fiber and got left with an OpenServe installation. I spoke to a couple of ISPs and eventually was told that it was quicker to do a new line installation than to migrate the OpenServe line. Part of the problem is that Telkom handled it all, and now that I've cancelled I can't get any details from Telkom about the line. (I have the cancellation details from Telkom, but nothing else, and that refers to their contract identifiers, not the line identifier.)

Firstly, is that true? Secondly, given that I'd like to go with you and Vumatel, what's the fastest way to get something off the ground

Thanks

d

If you have Vumatel coverage apply for a line, it doesn't take that long to install, then dont bother with the OS line.

@PBCool

Hey fella

Is there any way to get this moving? After mutiple attempts I finally got signed up with CI. They then referred me to Vumatel to schedule the instaltion myself, which I found odd but ok. I've been trying for days now to get anywhere with Vumatel who have alternately told me that I already have an an installation, I don't have an installation, that I am not/am on their database, they have no record of the Cool Ideas account, despite it being sent to them by me, etc.

As we speak I'm on hold for fourth time this morning with no apparent end in sight.

Any ideas?

I'm genuinely astonished at how hard it is to give people money in this country :)

Being a cynical South African I expect the sales operations to work seamlessly and for the problems to start later, when you try to _use_ the product. I'm pretty much preparaed for that. But this time I'm struggling to get permission to _give_ people money. It's as though I was a debt collector some of the places I call, or had the plague.

Just PM me your details, name and address etc and we can take it up with Vumatel installs.

MFN say the fibre issue is resolved FYI.
