I think calm down surely you see they are trying to help you?
Having dealt with PB numerous times he always takes the side of the customer and always helps
Take the emotion out of it

I agree, Paul or @PBCool is the best when it comes to customer care and patience with all the BS we say. The only reason why I am still with Cool Ideas is because of @PBCool. I know there are frustrations between us especially when we pay huge chunk of money for internet and not getting the service but at least we always get a response to our complaints and I feel that there is someone that listens to me and possibly will do something about the problem. However I cannot say the same for the rest of Cool Ideas staff, I find the technical representatives very arrogant and always trying to push away the issue to the client, and responding to tickets take ages and even when they answer I always get that "irrelevant rejection answer" like dont test with your wifi :) simple answer if its not @PBCool I would probably be with another ISP:)

Thanks

I some how agree with valtron, we are paying top dollar for cool ideas and getting very poor international speeds, not saying that other service provides provide better speeds but there prices are a lot better for the same service.

I have sent complaints to cool ideas that international speeds are getting worse and they don't seem to care. I might start looking for a different ISP.

I have the same slow international speeds. Impossible for streaming.

Would be interesting to know if there are any people getting full speeds.

Octotel / CISP 100/100, same issues 6-11pm slow.

Youtube picture preview not loading, sometimes MyBB can’t update, switching to LTE fix it.

Did log calls and do tests winter 2017, hoping other will complain and get it fixed.

I also have to add, I’m happy with the pricing. During the day I don’t have any complaints.

Vumatel 50/50 CISP. Watching 3 twitch streams at the same time. Hosting teamspeak and downloading on steam and not having any issues.

100/25 CISP, Octotel.

I've given up. Are CISP having issues? First time since getting fibre that I've been unable to watch twitch.

Twitch is magically broken at times. Unfortunately this is out of CISP control. I know if I watch streams from EU I get little to no buffer where as west coast USA I do get more buffering. Twitch servers I guess?

I've been having issues the last two days. Nothing looks broken in speed tests and even the trace routes I've tried, but certain things just don't work well. Some random sites struggle to load or content within apps struggles to load. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason.

Another weird thing is that my router is unable to connect after a reboot. Always takes a third reboot after leaving it to try and fail for 5 min.

Please god don't let CI deteriorate like the other 2 ISPs that everybody raved about until they slipped to the bottom of the pile.

We need at least ONE good ISP pliz, pliz.

It would seem these problems are area specific. It would help if people can identify the area they are in. As human nature has it we always highlight the negative which creates a false perspective of CISP. It would be ideal if we could have an ISP comparison in those areas affected. I am on Vuma/CISP 50/50 Edgemead Cape Town and have no problems. Granted this speed test was not done during peak but I do stream movies almost every evening without problems. http://www.speedtest.net/result/7088463499

Completely agree. If we knew the areas having problems it would help hugely. From the above posts Weltevreden Park has issues and we're close which is why I'm concerned.

Also maybe then we could establish whether it's provider or ISP.

Yeap so I have suspected its area related for a while now, I am going to try get the network layout from Vumatel tomorrow to help point us in the right direction. We also have a couple diagnostic routers in the field which will also give us an idea during peak times this evening.

Sundays being the busiest time on the networks.

Hi Paul,

I am in Robindale Ext 1 in Esmeralda Crescent

There is a diagnostic router here from when I had another problem about a year ago.
I have asked for it to be collected a few times, but if it helps, I can plug it back in ??

Sure please do and let me know once done.

But even if I test now from a device of ours in Weltevreden Park downstream on a 200Mbps service to London I get the following:

0 bps/135.1 Mbps over an average of 3minutes

I do the same test to a device in Parkhurst:

0 bps/224.9 Mbps

And then to our office which isnt on the Vumatel network:

0 bps/418.2 Mbps

Have plugged the device back in

Looks as if I should get a connection straight into your office :)

Please let me know what you get from here
Thanks

So do us a favour and change ISP’s- you’ll soon see it’s a Vuma issue.

The sooner you realize that Vumatel has bitten off far more than they can chew, the better for your blood pressure!
Their mass Fibre roll out means shoddy turn around times and IMO a provider who sometimes don’t know what the heck they’re doing.

Oh and good luck in getting support like CISP’s elsewhere

Edit: only realized I quoted the wrong reply- this is meant for @macedon

I hear you, but I guess you havent read all my comments. Btw, when you experience the same issues that I have for almost a month, you might not be with the same thinking:) Anyway if you have some info or a solution please bring it on rather then just criticizing us here:)

Thanks
