I don't disagree. As Dr. House (MD) says: "Everybody Lies".

Again, would you be willing to pay 10x the price if they provided an SLA to your satisfaction?

If it required 10x the cost to provide the suggested KVA UPS then they are buying from the wrong provider. They can buy from me for 10x less.

I am not the kind of person to talk about hypothetical extremes. We both know it wont cost them 10x more to provide actual backup power the the level I suggested.

It's not just the UPS's. It's multiple redundant backhaul paths with a higher SLA, etc, etc.

Yes, power is a major issue, but since power is the cause of this drama, it is a fixation. But there's a helluva lot more than just power involved.

But, BTW. Can you do me a good deal on some UPS's for my house ? The gennie is starting to act up, and I don't wan't to go full inverter just yet ....

Hahaha sure, Give me some Free monthly 200Mbit access to CISP and working Vumatel Fiber and I will get you some cheap at cost UPS's. Gotta negotiate my way back onto usable Fibre it seems? :)

Yep, fantastic response time. It translate to not a single KB of data actually being transfered. I think I am being rerouting through a tincan with these responses.

So my perception of their own network being utterly fkd is not far from the truth. I think that POPs probably died and they rerouted traffic to overcrowd other POPS leading to useless congestion and failure.

How much do we need to bet that over the weekend they upgrading firmware that coincided with the loadshedding and now they are using the loadshedding as an excuse for shtty firmware upgrades.

I have seen these types of networking issue after firmware upgrades more than once before(pretty sure you definitely have also)

Please PM me your Vumatel Object number, or name/address. Not that there's a helluva lot I can do, but let's try a static IP maybe.

154.0.1.125 is our router handed off from Vumatel in Bree street. It's idling.

They'd have to be routing traffic to the upper atmosphere and back to get that kind of latency. It's worse than VSAT.

So after nearly hour of being synced that previous MTR improved to what it should be all day. But I had the same situation on Monday and I suspect will have the same situation later today(Wednesday) where it is all down the poop until 1-2am. :(

EDIT: Same issues already kicking in, dejavu. Slowly starting to get packetloss before leaving Vumatel. sporaticly packets starting to drop and in an hour or two the network will be dead again.

Check your PM again, have assigned you a static IP.

That static ip config just gave my connection full blown aids. o_0

How is it even possible that simply using the configured static ip did that, I switched back to previous dynamic and it so happen to be stable again. I would kinda like to be able to use such a static ip config but man whats with that ? :p

That's weird, please reassign the static, so I can check my side.

Again, evidence that I can use with Vumatel.
