@PBCool / @TheRoDent - why do I keep getting shunted back and forth? I wouldn't mind except that enetworks seems to be a network of cans tied together with string. The internet is barely usable.

This is the issue with Twitch.

Download speeds from Belgium are horrible.
Belgium is where most of the servers that we download streams from are from.

Testing Twitch with my server in Amsterdam as a relay (aka i stream to it and it forwards onto Twitch ingest)

Watching from Twitch is a nightmare.
Pull from IP Address: 185.42.206.51 Which resolves to Belgium.

If i pull the stream from my server (Something that can be done with these Relays if you know they stream key) It is perfect! Downloading without any issues at all...

So 100% seems like it a throughput issue to Belgium

Not to puff too much smoke but right now direct cant keep connection to skype with vpn its working just to be sure its not skype having the issue.

EDIT: scratch that, seems to be strange international issues atm. Cant even run speedtest to london site it just returns "latency too high" doesn't even start the test, never seen this before. Eventually it ran and I have never seen such dogshit results since getting cisp on vuma, this is scary to observe, wtf is going on ?

At least you got your guys to see it. With all the issues Octotel is having and the fact that my copper line can't do it either I don't even know where to start. The really bizarre thing for me was that over the christmas holidays twitch was perfect. For almost 20 days I could stream twitch any time of day at any quality with no issues. I do also remember a while ago I borrowed a friend's Telkom data wireless router, it managed to stream twitch just fine so I honestly don't know whats going on.

I'd like to blame international capacity but I just don't know enough about how the networks are setup to even make a guess. I'm just a guy throwing darts at a dart board, blindfolded in a pitch black room watching my buffer wheel go round and round.

This is typical usage pattern for me watching twitch:

As you can see the average is way down, like 300-400 KB/s with pretty much random peaks which makes the stream impossible to watch.

When its working properly it should just be a flat consistent line:

Constantly pulling 1000-1200KB/s.

Sucks twitch offers no tools to help with this. Tracerts fail because they fail to respond to pings and they have no speedtest capabilities at all so we're just left on our own. I wish I knew what was wrong but I guess just know you're not alone.

This is Cut and Paste, exactly how I experience it. What makes things worse is we can hold no one accountable, because it is a *free* international service and the level of service is not guaranteed just because of it.
A bit drastic I guess but I would leave a ISP just because of this, just because I know another ISP can provide it.

High jitter and inconsistent throughput (locally and internationally) in Kenilworth, Cape Town.

Last mile seems fine so it looks like something is going on within CI's network.

Exactly this issue for me in Claremont on Octotel CISP. Working on Remote desktops in Michigan and London is terrible today. Can barely Skype and local is near completely fine.

Use chocolatey, it's a package manager.
Open CMD as admin, run:

 @"%SystemRoot%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe" -NoProfile -InputFormat None -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Command "iex ((New-Object System.Net.WebClient).DownloadString('https://chocolatey.org/install.ps1'))" && SET "PATH=%PATH%;%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\chocolatey\bin"

And then you can use e.g.

 choco install winmtr-redux

to install.
if you want a GUI for the package manager, use:

choco install chocolateygui

It also makes it easy to keep stuff up to date, all you need to do is run

 choco upgrade all

And easy to transfer machines as you just generate a packages.config file and then run choco install package.config on that machine.

Mine is looking all right. I still don't get good international.

They literally just a minute ago fixed something, its not all sorted skype is still not connecting but at least getting better results now as in usable not great at all but usable.
