I'm not arguing boet, just trying to understand your logic. TCP scaling works like this:
https://www.auvik.com/franklymsp/blog/tcp-window-size/

Please capture a wireshark of this dodgy speedtest, post it and let us have a look. Or not.
It can't start its service since I can't restart my PC, have work open I can't close off until I finish.
And I understand how window scaling works, that graph you have is the basically what the scaling window starts at before ramping up. I should still be able to hit 100Mbps internationally on a multi threaded speed test.

@PBCool any issues on vuma aeriel tonight in the Little Falls area?

Barely getting 100mbps down locally on 1000/100 and twitch / netflix aren't buffering higher than 360p.

Cheers

Is there a problem somewhere tonight? Streaming international almost impossible. Restarted router but not helping. First time in weeks that there is a problem again.

My vumatel raycore CPE just stopped working. When i power it on, it does the start up check followed by only a blue light. FX port doesnt come on and it does not pick up any devices connected to the LAN ports. Powering off the CPE for 5min+ does nothing to solve it either.

Anyone seen this behaviour on the CPE before?

Once again, no real packet loss but using the proxy seems to help international. Using a download manager with 20 odd threads almost maxs out the line though

How is your experience on frogfoot with CISP? My parents area is launching on FF and I was thinking of putting them on CISP. Are you in CT?
My experience initially was pretty horrid, sub-10mbps throughput internationally, until Frogfoot decided to at least double check their end and found an issue that they fixed - smooth sailing from there.

Unfortunately, as you can see in this thread, my current experience isn't the same as others here on Frogfoot (even in my area) so your milage may vary.

If it's not on our announcement page then there isn't anything we have been made aware of.

Do you think it will be completed before month end? You can apologize for it taking so long, I am still being billed over a thousand rand a month for your service. How long is waiting enough? Over two months?

Do your competitors have the same issue? No? Do you even have a time frame that you've assigned to this issue? Why is this the first I hear about this issue after complaining about throughput for over a month?
It's unfortunately not something that is easily sticking a time frame to as once we have our evidence we need to bring this to Frogfoot to resolve. Our competitors have the same layer2 service so yes they would have the same issue. If you cant wait for resolution then I would suggest cancelling and waiting until it's resolved, but this isn't something we can easily just flip a switch to fix.

Are you seeing this every evening?
I saw it on Fri, Sat and Sun evening, there was a little blip last weekend, but I am not sure if that was related. So I would say it started on Friday night. If you need a ticket number it is #COOL-20190506-262033. Thanks Paul!

thanks, perhaps best to give CI a miss for FF then.

I've noticed I can no longer achieve full line speed on NNTP to Europe at any time of day. It used to max out my 200/200 line with 60 concurrent threads, but now barely reaches 20MB/sec on a good day, and usually sits between 16-18MB/sec. There's no packet loss on MTR's during this time. Latency looks normal. Just can't get line speed. Have you guys started shaping traffic? This is on Octotel, Southern Suburbs.

I ordered the 10/5 uncapped on Openserve a week ago, but according to CISP call centre the "Openserve portal is down" so they haven't been able to place my order with Openserve. Which is a problem for me as my ADSL has now been switched off (yes the Telkom cancellation process actually worked perfectly). So although this is probably an Openserve issue, I'm not too impressed with my first CISP interactions. My feel is they must sort this out with Openserve, not just keep telling me every day that the portal is still down.

Dissapointed with Cool Ideas for the first time :(

Thought I'd add VOIP to my package but seems the R85/m is per cordless handset, so I can't get a single base-station and then 2 or 3 cordless handsets linked to a single line, apparently each is seperate. I mean for R1.5k I can get a set of 3 panasonic cordless phones which all link to a single Telkom line and I don't need to pay extra but CISP voip I would need to pay R1700 for the main handset, R850 for each extra, and then R85/m per handset (i.e. R255).

Guys, surely there is a better way, is there no way to get a 3 or 4 phone set that works on the same VOIP "line"

This has been an ongoing issue with OS for a while now, we have escalated it to executive level. I will see what I can do from my side.
