Hey reps - is it possible to track progress of delivery: COOL-20190429-258996

Really hoping to receive this today, to have interwebz this weekend.

Sidenote: I just thought of something. It was mentioned on here earlier that I can use any ADSL ISP account on the openserve fibre line. Can I plug in my current ADSL router into the ONT device somehow and use my ISIgnite account while I wait for the Cool Ideas router to arrive? Not sure though, I guess the ONT doesn't have a telephone line port? Completely new to the world of fibre...

Reps have gone pretty quiet on this thread. They're logging in according to their profiles but I think they're dealing with other stuff. I suggest pinging them @PBCool @TheRoDent @CoolChick, or giving them a call.

Edit. As far as I know your ADSL router will 100% not work.

You are correct, it won't work. Unless you have a magic router that has the old school phone/ADSL port and also a WAN port. Any router that has a WAN port can be used for Fibre.

You plug an ethernet cable into the port 1 of the ONT and into the Wan port of your router.

If you have something like an tp link archer D series, usually port 4 is a Wan port. You just dial a PPPoE connection like on ADSL. Frogfoot and Octotel are the same, Vuma is different.

Note only openserve accounts are interchangeable though as the others activate your PPPoE account only on that VLAN or something like that.

I didn't look at the ONT last night after they installed it, was just hoping maybe there's a telephone port on there or something.

Okay so 20 minutes later and they just delivered my router...so all good. Great turnaround time by Cool Ideas to have it delivered under 24 hours from Rosebank to Bellville.

All good thanks. Quickly ran home over lunch to test it, got a fright at first but looks good. When I do a speed test the first second or two is not great, but then it increases and runs at max speed. Will monitor over the weekend.

I can nslookup google.co.za using 1.1.1.1
Returns 216.58.233.131
if I ping that address I get Dest Net Unreach from 154.0.4.125.

Cycled PPPOE, can’t reach radius. Auth fails.

All Vuma? I’m so surprised! /sarcasm
