Yes, outbound is still via cogent, inbound can be, uhm, varied.

Haven't received any notification from Octotel, but one of our VLAN's is carrying zero traffic as of a few minutes ago.
That sounds like a backhaul break, or unplanned maintenance.

Can confirm clients on our network via Octotel Cape Gate are also down so something on Octotel's side.
 
Woohoo looks like octotel sorted there line out my syncthing instance to the Netherlands which is single threaded was running at about 50mbps this morning which is a vast improvement over the 4mbps I was getting before.

Thanks to the @TheRoDent and @PBCool for dealing with my rants and getting it sorted

Yeah I notice the Cool 10/2 and Pro The COOLest 1000Mbps packages are not showing up on the shop.vumatel.co.za portal
 
I got the 10/5 line last week thursday from CiSP, my internet has been so k@k, My average download speed is 1mb/s on 2.4Ghz and 5ghz

My 10/5 line from openserve is so bad, I struggle with http and evenmore with DSTV, I cant even Facebook. Im so mortified, got the line last week

Had some buffering again with DSTV Now this past weekend with my inlaws visting when watching the rugby. Had to switch to my backup VOX account to solve the problem. A bit of a nuisance, but it generally happens only with the rugby streams. Everything else, including Twitch, was still top notch. Think it was more an issue with DSTV Now itself than with my CISP account, although, my VOX account didn't have the same problems, so didn't know what was going on :unsure:
 
So my experience this weekend was a bit better with using the proxy. I still had buffering but it felt like it buffered less and not for as long as previously.

Last night however was a complete different story, unable to stream anything with buffering all the time but I think that has to do with the fact that both my local and international Speedtests were at 0.2 Mbps.

Overall the experience is a bit better but it doesn't fix the problem and Sunday nights the internet is unusable.

I wonder if DStv prioritises certain networks. I streamed both games on Saturday in 1080p without any buffering or picture degradation, which isn't always the case, the previous weekend the quality dropped a bit here and there.

Twitch was absolute garbage this weekend. First time in a long while I've tuned into a live stream instead of clips/VODs (which also buffer regularly) and could not actually watch at anything higher than 240p on a 200/200 line. This was on Octotel, but early afternoon on a Sunday so I can't imagine anything was congested. No problems with any other kind of streaming and for the most part downloads are fine (single threaded is still pretty poor) - but I don't understand how twitch streaming is still so poor.

Hi guys,

Is there anyway I can get CoolIdeas and Vumatel to move quicker on my Fibre setup/installation?

I've been waiting for close to a month now for these guys to setup my fibre line and all i've been getting is excuses. So frustrating!
