Cool Ideas Fixed 5G/4G Feedback Thread

I've been having another issue for the last few days. Internet works fine till I go to bed, but when I wake up in the morning I have to restart my router or I have no connection. Something has been happening overnight where my router stops working.

eg. My cellphone can find/see my router but there is no internet. After I restart the router, it's fine again for the whole day.

Yup same issue for me. Perhaps it's time to switch to MTN? Cool Ideas can we discuss what is needed for me to try a mtn Sim instead?

I've been experiencing these exact issues for longer and even after logging numerous tickets, it's still problematic. At the moment, I'm messing around with the different bands under developer options. If things don't improve this month, I'll switch to Mtn and see how it goes.

As a temporary fix, the ZTE G5TS router has a Scheduled Restart option (System Settings --> Scheduled Restart) which allows you to set a daily reboot time. If you choose the restart time a short while before you need to access the service this might help to reduce having to manually reboot the router.

I'm sure that the Vodacom 5G service interruptions will stabilise again over the coming days.

@Chris_Auc: I will be very interested to hear your feedback regarding the MTN 5G product and how it compares to the Vodacom 5G packages.
Will update, I already have the Vodacom 5G. It will be interesting to see how the MTN 5G performs.

So far not off to a good start...😅

Feedback is that MTN responded with no issues in the area, so next is probably trying a new sim or router then back to MTN. Which network do you use on your phone?
Already tried this SIM in multiple routers, no luck. I have another MTN SIM & it works fine.

So probably a new Cool ideas MTN SIM?

@Chris_Auc: I hope you can get this issue resolved very soon !

Can you communicate with the SIM card from the USSD menu of the G5TS, can it receive SMSs, make calls etc. ? Can you read the phone number from the Device Information menu of the G5TS ?

I would try to communicate with the SIM in the hope that something starts working !
