It coud very well be the case indeed. If 5G doesn't come back, or If repositioning your router elsewhere & the usual Reboot doesn't do the trick, Would you mind logging a ticket and our team can enquire at Vodacom?
I've logged a ticket, thanks. 5G is back but extremely weak signal.
 
How do you achieve this download speed?What towers are you connected and Bands?
It could be that they are just very close to the tower XD
However do note that Vodacom doesn't shape the package as yet, so these will eventually not be achievable anymore, and can also run through your FUP quite quick.
 
Still struggling here, back to 4G+ with -109dBm signal strength
Sorry to hear. Luckily I have never had the 5G service disappear in the 10 months that I have been using the CI/Vodacom service.

Do you have good Vodacom Mobile and Home 5G coverage ?

-109 dBm is verrrrry edge Cell. The ZTE does allow for External Antenna's though. You could always give that a go and see if it improves things. They use the TS-9 connector. Just make sure it's 5G capable.

But yeah of it was never a problem before then Its likely a tower has gone bust somewhere closeby

I logged a ticket yesterday so waiting for feedback, hopefully Vodacom is able to sort the issue if it is a tower problem. I'd really prefer not to buy external antennas for something that was working perfectly till 2 days ago.
 
@feesbees: Do you have any screenshots showing the PCI and EARFCN values of the 5G tower when the service was operating normally ?

If you can connect to the weak signal try to see if these have changed. If so, you may be able to return them to the previous settings from the 5G Cell Lock section of the Developer Options menu to see if that helps.

Thanks for all the info. Unfortunately I don't have the previous info from when it was working. But tried the band lock tricks and it's not helping. I think it's simply a case of the tower being offline.
