You will have to listen to both. I have a set of Logitech X530, its in your price range or just above and I find them very bass heavy even with the sub turned all the way down. Creative's stuff is damn good for detail although when you look at it they are still PC speakers.

Anyway I still prefer my Cambridge Soundworks 2.1 system. I keep raving about them but they bullet proof, designed by Henry Kloss and still on the market 7 years later. Sound reproduction is brilliant, not the loudest though.

Hi all

I just to go and buy myself speakers for my pc. Not to expensive, I do have a hi fi connected in the other room. Was looking for nothing over R500.

What is better?
Logitech or Creative?

Thanks:)

Well, considering your pricerange, with your mind set on just two brands, your options are quite limited...
I'm no audiophile so please bear with me...
IMHO, if I were in your shoes i'd go for:

1.)Creative Inspire M2600 speaker , 2.1 , 29w total RMS (R448.36)
2.)Logitech 970285 X-240 , 2.1 , FDD2, 25w(15+2x5) (R417.17)
3.)Logitech 970123 X-230 , 2.1 , FDD2, 25w <---(not sure) (R497.75)
4.)Logitech 970191 X-210 , 2.1 , FDD2 25w (15+2x5) (R366.49)

If you're willing to go over the R500 mark then in order of my humble preference:

1.)Logitech 970223 X-540 , 5.1 , FDD2 (R881.13)
2.)Logitech 970114 X-530 , 5.1 , FDD2 (R709.58)
3.)Creative SBS-A500 speaker , 5.1 , 46w ( 17 + 6x5 ) RMS (R551.03)
4.)Logitech 970187 Oem S500, 5.1 channel, 35w (15w + 5x4w) (R561.43)
5.)Creative I-Trigue 3600 speaker with ALM (R705.68)
6.)Creative I-Trigue 3220 speaker , 2.1 , 29w total RMS(17w sub-w)(R592.62)
