You have records for the field. Like in golf.
Stats like "Australia has the record for the highest chase in T20" shouldn't really matter when it was achieved on a bowling green

Golf is predominantly an individual sport, and not country Vs country.
Doesn't every other major team sport have some of standard for grounds?

Saffer Tom Curran denies NZ a close victory.
There is actually a min ground size for cricket. Issue is as it was only introduced recently grounds that had already hosted international games before then have special permission. So Eden park while it doesn't meet the regulation is allowed to be used.
