CRICKET SA vs England

haven't seen the ab incident but the vaughn one looked like one of those where a fielder could believe they cleanly caught

Just seen the highlighs, as South African as I am I have to say that AB knew he didn't make that catch. His palms was facing downwards and on top of the ball. He would have felt that resistance the ground offered.

Would have liked to bat for 2 days and make 500. Probably more realistic to hope to bat to end of day 3 with a total of 350.

so watching the dstv highlights. one of the commentators says that ntini bowling closer to the wicket has meant he has lost an element of his game that was very effective. bowl wide --> ball in the offstump region --> outside edge is what i assume he meant. could this be what has caused ntini to be seemingly off form?

EDIT: Dale Steyn will be an all time great for sure. I remember syaing this when he made his debut against the kiwis.

I read that Vaughan and the rest of the team had quite a go at De Viliers during the lunch break about his non catch.

And then Vaughan go on and do something similiar. That said, AB's was worse though.

Would have love to have heard what the SA team said to Vaughan after the day's play though!! ha ha not sure degrees of "wrongness" would have come into the discussion!

Nope. He bowled with the same run-up in 2005 and 2006 when he was in supreme form. He's down on pace and he doesn't have the seam control that he had back then. Might be an issue with his wrist position.

Think it's an issue with batsmen not getting edges.
Sure he'll get at least 10 more wickets in this series.

and also the vaughn issue, the fact amla walked would suggest that it was not a case of cheating.

AB's was not a case of cheating either. No player will claim a catch they know they did not take. He thought it was clean.

Otherwise he must be really f%^kin stupid, they know they wont get away with claiming a dropped catch. There's cameras everywhere.

i find it difficult to believe he would think that was a clean catch.

we should push to have a lead of 150-200 by the end of tomorrow.

listening to the dstv commentary now apparently the first thing AB asked was whether it carried.

Nice one Prince. 50 up.

Should have that before lunch tmrw I hope

waay before lunch. Should get 100-120 in a good post tea session. plus another 40-50 before tea should give us 150 by tonight. given we dont lose more wickets.

But the plan should be to bat and bat and bat.

that is difficult to say. I've taken some in the slips and close to the bat in action cricket that I thought was dodgy, but people around me said was clean, and some similar to AB's, where you just dont know. And other way around where I felt sure about the catch, but people around me thought otherwise.

And on the lead, if we bat till end of tomorrow the lead should 350 plus. 90 overs in a day x 2.75 runs an over = 247 runs.

Hmm I wonder if the crowd booed and jeered the way they did for AB earlier?

What ever happened to good sportsmanship Vaughan!!! From the captain of all people!
ABs dropped catch was blatant, Vaughan was not as clear cut. Though rightfully karma paid a visit to Vaughan, after giving unnecessary abuse to AB, with the decision giving Amla the benefit of the doubt.

He must be making his detractors eat humble pie. 43.81 average.
