Pity about Biff at the end there, but that was 2 very good balls from a fired up Flintoff.

Hope Harris can frustrate them a bit in the morning, maybe get a 50 partnership going with McKenzie. England does not look like a happy team at the moment and we have to take them on tomorrow. One good day and the series should be ours.

I reckon Kallis will come good with the bat in this game.

Well said, and well summed up.

Tomorrows monring sessions is goign to be vital, the england team are clearly goign to get a talking too tonight and so will come out firing, if we can survivie the new ball, i think the pitch will allow us to get the desired lead.

Guess we have to wait and see how the SA innings goes, we need 400 at least.

So far it's looking like the second test all over again.

I can live with that.

ROFL @ Panesar's runout -> Run Monty, Ruuunnnn.

I would prefer a 5day'er to be honest.

Did you see how pissed off Flintstone was with Monty being run out - he watched it from the other end, he even had time to turn around and become a spectator - ROFL...

A really good performance from us today. I hope we can kick on tomorrow and get a big one. :)

Pity about Smith at the end there...

Yes, that's true. Specially seeing as the fifth day is a Sunday.

I think that the Proteas should hold themselves back a little and win sometime after tea on Sunday. :D

Dont worry about that. As I said Kallis will come good with the bat. In other words I see a 350 ball 150 coming up and a veeerryy slow looong partnership with either Amla or Prince.

For a change, I'm hoping for a looong boringgg innings.

1 century every 5 matches is a good ratio for a batsmen, hope all those centuries in the last 2 matches don't count against us in this match.

Well, they've got to take their chances in the first session - before Mendis and Murali get warmed up. :D

151/0 at lunch.

gees IPL20/20 gone to their heads... seems the way cricket is being played is constantly changing which is refreshing as it's a sport bogged down by conservative and counter progressive thinking...

Yeah, but that was mostly Sehwag being Sehwag - 91 off 82 balls - just like he did to us before the IPL. Gambir got a more test-like 50 off 92 balls.

Anyway it's raining, or they're mopping up the field, now.

are you talking on the field thinking? coz even there there are signs of cricket continously being a progressive sport in terms of tactics. you only have to look at average run rates for tests in the last 3 decades to see that.

and then off the field you have the introduction of ODI and 20/20. As well video technology.

Indeed, I mean in the last 30 years or so. About the time Benson & Hedges world series was introduced around 1980 the game has been evolving and muting into something very different to what the inventors of the timeless tests envisaged...

Rain at Edgbaston :(

ESPN sometimes replays games from the 1992 World Cup - cricket from then is a world away from the cricket that is played today. Looks much more leisurely. :)
