I just score those stats out the corner of my eye on Sky Sports. I saw 2008, Graeme Smith & 1000 runs. The rest is history. :D

if flintoff continues that type of ball he could have us all out in no time.

Have any of the English batsman had the same problem?

Hussain & Holding (Sky Sports commentators for those who don't know) demonstrated the other day how when the bowlers arm is fully extended just before the release of the ball in the bowlers delivery, the ball "comes out" of the area above the white sight screen. The problem is that there are seats there, making it hard (impossible) to see the red ball in the dark background.

can't take those flippin commentators anymore!

Sarcastically going on about the effects microphone.. and then the wicket falls. I was about to send them an email but I'll refrain for now

Sh_t! They are still battling to pick up Flintoff's yorkers!! Bloody Edgbaston!

Flintoff to McKenzie, OUT, complete misjudgment from McKenzie! Flintoff fires in a yorker, McKenzie somehow fails to pick it and doesn't offer a shot, the ball swings in in the air and hits the boot, umpire Steve Davis gives him out. Hawkeye reckons that would have clipped the offstump. If you don't offer a stroke you're generally in big trouble. This reminds me of Chris Read getting out to Cairns at Lord's in 1999

Perhaps what we have is the England management/fans/groundsmen placing lots of fans there wearing red shirts when SA bat and then get them to put on white shirts when England bats!

I really feel the crowd/surroundings should not be able to have an effect on the game... even if it is only a problem with Flintoff's style/action, the stands should not favour one bowlers action!

the sky team making mention that although morkel is taller the english batsmen never seemed to have the same issue. but given how inconsistently morkel bowled that may be the reason.

but yeah it does worry me this thing.

EDIT: the simple thing is to have smith face flintoff. the lbw is less likely for him if he bowls from over the wicket.

Strange that. Also heard it and thought it doesn't make sense.

As for David Gower...

"Sort it out before the game".

Yeah sure, just get all the England bowlers to give you a quick warm up from both ends before the game starts. :D

apparently though it's not the first time that batsmen have lost sight of the ball at egbaston. so maybe there is a need to make the sightscreen longer.

Marginal Amla LBW that one - benefit should have gone to Amla, not the bowler...
