I said even before they declared england will regret not getting 600+.

They have given them a sniff and the aussies look like they may yet take.

Especially as they gave the Aussies two full days to get the runs, and the bowlers they have on the field wouldn't shape in our provincial matches.

Lol, Aus would have done the same thing... The "boring" way to play test cricket is to make sure you can't lose. But that approach also keeps you from winning a lot of the time. The Aussies have declared a couple of times when the score was not 600+ to give the other team a chance to get it (even if it was a slim chance) and by doing that won the game.

I really hope the Aussies do not get that total. don't need them bragging how they have chased down the most runs in a 4th innings:eek:

Most of the wickets have tumbled in the morning sessions or after some rain. I doubt this morning will be much different. 2 or 3 more wickets early on and England should win the game.
But if the Australians pull this off it will be really great for the sport! To finally get rid of that psychological barrier of 400 runs 4th innings score.

Yes u did.

Will be something else if they get it.
Only Johnson left who can bat.

If England lose this, they should be tarred and feathered.

No devil, i am not saying the english should have built up a 700+ score. They should have come out and rather swung the bat at everything for 5-10 overs and rather take those 10 overs to either get bowled out or score an extra 80-100 runs.

2 days to score 522 is not impossible on a good batting track, although who knows maybe england bowl the aussies out in the morning session.

IIRC only one team has ever scored 450 + in the forth innings in a test so 520 should be a save bet (I would have backed them in declaring).........

Have a look there 418 being the highest score... EVER. So thats a good 104 runs more than the highest score succesfully chased in a 4th innings.......EVER.

Also ask ponting about what 5-10 overs less with the ball can land your team in ;)

Ps it has something to do with the last test ;):p

Nope but he can get the runs required while the others block for all they are worth :D, johnson so far has been a failure so who knows maybe he comes good because we know he can bat.

Lol, yeah but pinning the other batsman down will put some pressure on clarke... if he masters that he will really show some great talent and grit :)

I hope they draw - if England win this one they will go negative on the rest of the series just so they can claim an Ashes series. Better yet let the Aussies win, after that day light (low light) robbery on the 3 wickets they wouldn't be trying to save it they'd be batting one day by now with only 3 wickets lost (fairly).

Larry there is no chance of a draw in this one.

I think it would be impossible for the outcome to be a draw. They need 180 odd not with 4 wickets, either the aussies win or lose today. They won't sit and bat out a draw.

I think that is game now with clarke gone.
