Cryptocurrency Mining

I feel like I'm making progress by ordering at least. Right now I can't put a PC rig together because I can't get components. My first line was to do a PC rig but honestly, I've no guarantee that I'm going to get any of the next batch of anything.
Thing is with pc rig I can sell it all when this thing crashes.

Antminer has zero purpose and becomes irrelevant after 3 months.

I finally got some GPUs. PSU shipping delayed, but managed a loaner on a smaller unit. My risers in the container at Cape Mail waiting to be unpacked. Hopefully everything will come together by the end of the month.

So at this stage I'm running a single card on the board. For now it's Windows with claymore into ethpool.org. I've read mixed reviews about whether or not dual-mining is worth it. Anyone doing it?

I don't have too much of an issue going the Linux route, but keeping reading that tweaking the card power, mem etc. is more difficult under Linux? This true? I had a quick dig around and the nvidia-smi tool looks pretty powerful.

Tried it for all of one day or two days. Not worth it IMHO. It sucks more juice, it far less stable, you pay 2% more in dev fees. I did not find it worth it or profitable. If you overclock the guts out of the GPU, you may yield some benefits at the expense of the card's life.

I tired duel mining in my amd rigs. I failed.

Gtx Gaming did dual mining I think he also said its less stable so doing single.

Why 3 months? :)
I'm hoping to have made double my money back in the time that the average 6 card PC rig gets ROI.

Makes sense, thanks.

Are you guys experiencing similar or better returns?

Also, the calculator says a 1050ti will have a better ROI compared to a 1060/1070. How can that be? Surprised to see the 480 completely kills the 1060 on ROI.

@GTX, any thoughts on the 1050ti comparison?

Yep it is only good if you don't pay for power.

Cool will give it a miss then.

Linux distro of choice? Ubuntu? Also saw some suggestions of xubuntu for being a bit more lightweight.

Lubuntu for me, it's still Ubuntu so I use the same guides, but it's super light so celeron feels like an i7

I enquired on ETA for stock at a local distributor and got this today.

I have two 1050ti cards at the moment. they are running with a very slight OC on the memory, and I am averaging around 26MH/s with the two of them. You can drive them into the ground before they start giving issues, but then power consumption goes through the roof, so doesn't become viable I guess.

Any here struggling with genoil ethminer on nicehash? When NHM starts this algo my CPU jumps to 100% when it tries to load the dag files.. the command prompt looks like a type writer and it simply cannot load the files.. claymore on the other hand works like a charm on my 1070's.. I have the dag load mode on sequential and my pagefile is set to 40gb..

Ethminer doesnt work on Nvidia, causes lots of issues, not on all cards thus for some it works. I saw when I have more than 3 cards it causes k@k on nvidia. I disabled dagger when using NH

that sucks cause I find NH to be more profitable than say just eth via claymore..
