Cryptocurrency Mining

Just a heads up, there is a new NH Legacy miner out, 1.8.1.8 with a new equihash miner, "dtsm" that increased my hashrate on the 1080ti by around 8%. I was running v1.8.2.0 pre-2 before.

Most coins are doing badly and ETH difficultly is sky high atm.

Perfect, just as my components arrive...

Right, so NiceHash and Claymore, I understand with NiceHash you are basically pimping out your hash-power to mine Bitcoin and with Claymore you mine ETH + random altcoin of your choice.

Apparently NiceHash is very user friendly and easy to use but the return is a bit lower that Claymore... Been trading alts for a few month now so would like to mine ETH and some random alt to 'play' with.

What's the opinion here?

Also for Claymore, you guys downloading from Gidhub/nanapool?

If you want ETH then claymore is a good stable option. I tried dual ming sia but it wasn't worth extra power consumption and strain on the cards.

There is a claymore thread on bitcoin talk with the download links.

Via Claymore is there a 'preferred' pool to use or do you just choose a pool with low fees?

Oh and thank you found the link on Bitcoin Talk

I use ethermine.org, nanopool is good too. But use whatever you like.

Me again... For ETH do you mine directly to your Luno address or first to a wallet like MyEthereumWallet and then weekly move the ETH to Luno, if the latter, why? Fees?

Apologies for all the questions...

The general advice is don't keep your crypto on the exchange. Your own wallet is safer. If however your intention is to trade it as soon as it pays out then save on a tx fee and mine it to the exchange.

Perfect, thank you for the advice will do just that.

If motherboard arrives today I should start my setup this weekend and hopefully be up and running this weekend still.

I need ETN to go up, need to get these rigs paid lol

At-least my final upgrade with plugs is happening in garage this weekend.

Then all my rigs will be in garage, and I can use my pc in my room without dying of heat lol
