Not too surprised the the default for 20 Mb/s would be ADSL2+.
Should be easy to rectify
/ converted back to VDSL, as soon as you know all the accounting issues have been resolved

I just phoned Telkom sales again, and used the option to track status of my order. The lady actually had some new information: she said that CW has finally released the lines now and that I have an option: I can either stay with them, move to a different ISP, or move to Telkom. I told her I want to move the ADSL line portion to Telkom. She then said she can see my pending order, but that she can now actually confirm it (which they couldn't/wouldn't do this morning when I asked for it) after which it should take 12-24 hours.

So now we wait, but at least she did say "No, it's definitely not 7-14-30 days or anything like that, and we know a technician doesn't have to come out to you, it's all automated from here on.". Sounds like I'm not her first CW customer for the day, heh.

She was actually pretty cool about it. Even laughed when my response to her question: "do you want to keep the line with CW" was "HELL no".
So just as an update to that.. and a warning to others.
During the above-mentioned call I specifically, several times, mentioned "I want the ADSL line with Telkom, I do NOT want an internet account with Telkom, I just want the ADSL line with Telkom.". They said yes sure they understand, no problem.
I get an sms, I'm now suddenly on a 24-month bundled contract with a 20mbps uncapped account. Still trying to resolve THAT, 3 calls later. While the ADSL is still off.

So just double-check that they don't put an account on your line, even if you specifically requested for them not to. Because, yknow. Telkom.

And they think they getting paid....

Dear Customer

EvoNet have been working tirelessly with Sage (our Debit Order provider) to get the system up and running in order to get debit orders processed for the end of this month, unfortunately there have been some delays and we regret to advise that we are not going to be able to process debit orders this month end. Within the next month we will be sending out the New Debit Order Mandates that we will need signed and returned to us (PASA requirement) and thereafter debit orders will resume for the next billing period.

We appreciate your loyalty and apologise for any inconvenience.

They apologize for their debit orders failing but not for their line messup and not a single notification or communication about the downtime.

It's all about the money....
Myself cancelled all services with them 31 October already - won't be needing those details.
Just using the data until month end...

It is all about getting those DOs signed. That is first prize, once they have your automatic payment instruction, they have you locked in.

Good move on Telkom's part. Make sure YOU confirm you no longer want to stay with CW. Then they can't be accused of coercion. Note, NOT Evo but CW. ....

Im going to refuse paying this month for December. Screw them. Using the CW invoice template, and just adding in Evonet on it, but same ref number which CW used. We can go to court if you want Evonet.

So nobody is bothered by the fact that evonet basically just used Crystal Webs invoice template, and didn't even have the decency to use their own?

Next, is to find a way to warn people about Evonet. Just like they damaged us, we should return the favor and make them suffer
Just create a helkom like website with sad stories
And then get another isp to sponsor the adspace

So I'm now suspended <_<.

Spoke to a Openserve person at about 1630. It sounds like they are processing the (his words) "massive amounts of lines" from CW in batches hence the reason why some of you are coming on as if by magic :). Due to my phoning him I am getting an escalation on my request to move the line back to my Telkom account. Hoping by mid day tomorrow I will have better news of my status.

So FYI if your connection is working be prepared for suspension, if you are currently suspended it sounds like Openserve are working on getting you up but don't idle keep applying pressure.

For the past week and a bit my voice line has been completely dead, no dial tone whatsoever. Strangely though I still have DSL connectivity, albeit 1/2 the speed I used to have. I tried logging a fault with Telkom but they just closed the ticket after 5 days of not doing anything. I'm now too worried to log another ticket in case they kill the DSL portion as well and I'm left with no connectivity....

I need someone to forward me their invoice for the next month, if you'd be so kind.
