Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

Yup. NNTP crawling. Local steam downloads only going at 20% of my line speed.

My pings to EU servers for gaming the last two days have been horrible. It all started yesterday. Use to get EU West pings of 152. Now those data servers are giving me 220ms.

Something has gone wrong somewhere in the chain. Switching out accounts and it's good to go on AH.

Something is screwy here.

Are you sure? Cause there are quite a few complaining about AH performance for YouTube right now. Funny how one can swap ISP within the same area and have a vastly differing experience.
Busy downloading the Windows Creator update, maxing out at 7.2Mbps.

Can confirm AH is better for gaming atm ....... only have a 1gb so no downloading and youtube but CW is about 40-50% for downloads and streaming here in KZN. Buddy of mine in Gauteng is seeing the same issue as me but another friend in CT is having not one problem

Silly example;

CW - local speed test

AH - local speed test

Both to the same server.

Now the upload I'm not that concerned about. But the download...that irks me.

Same with gaming ping! Much better on AH right now.
EDIT:
Just tested gaming again. Rock solid EU pings compared to CW. Hope they can resolve this.

Wish I could complain about 43Mbps. :p :D
But yeah, hope they sort it out soon. Have a gaming session with friends tomorrow.

Have all of you talked to support about your issues? They are the exact same as mine. The more tickets that are logged showing the same symptoms the more they will investigate IS as the problem and not silly things like an exchange.

Yup. Logged two days ago and following up daily.

My issues seem to start at around 17:00 and then go on till after 23:00.

I can only think that somewhere in the chain of things there is a node or box that is congested or throughput being managed due to demand. I have no in depth technical understanding of ISP infrastructure so I'm sure it could be something else entirely...but past experience with these symptoms usually has one of the two options I mentioned as the culprit.

I agree with you. Maybe we should include in our posts the product(s) we are using, to see if it is limited to certain products.

Well everything was fine for me prior to 7am then 7am hits and D3 gets laggy and download speeds are all over the place... *sigh* I am on the Unshaped Premium package for DSL...

*edit*

4mb DSL line.

Just came to say the same thing, logged on to my game at about 2am for a few mins, ping was down, packet loss was low. Log on now and it's back to shyte with 3% packet loss minimum. Ugh, I know support is looking into this and I need some patience but damn, I hate this.

Adsl 10mb
CW 150gb Xtreme Capped account

Does CW support read anything on these forums? Since they would easily see people are having issues, they could at least comment and say it is seacom related and thus causing traffic congestion or packet loss due to alternate routing or something...

It is not Seacom related.

well it's IS backbone related, that's for sure because the WA account acts 100% the same - shyte

Unplayable.jpg

This is AH ..... unreal. I have to shell out money for AH data just to game.

Well any kind of update would be damn nice.

Oh how I miss the days when this was an official support thread for them. Never had better comms from a company regarding anything that was happening.

I'll just keep testing and updating my ticket I guess till this is fixed.
