Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

It's now been literally 4 weeks. Every single night between 7 to 10pm my line loses 75% of it's speed. CW admitted to a problem and said they would fix it. That has now been almost 3 weeks ago with NO update. What is going on CW and why is this still happening? The service or rather lack of service I am currently getting is worse than what I received from my previous ISP before I left them. I am planning to switch over to Fibre at the end of the month but seriously having doubts on whether to move my Fibre account to you due to the way you are dealing with this issue.

The support tells me last week still have a problem nothing hi can do

Does anyone have experience with the CW premium news server? I'm on an xtreme home capped account so I have only the free server, but it looks like you can get the premium one as an add-on in the portal:

I'm interested if this server is much better than the free one, or better than other paid servers?

Crystal Web uses NextGenNews, so rather just subscribe to them directly: http://www.nextgennews.net/packages.php
 
Spoke to support earlier today. They have zero ETA on when this will be resolved. I did have a few moments over the weekend where the gaming and speeds were perfect. Basically during the day. However I am sure that come tonight at 20:00 then pings and experience will again go to hell.

Can anyone recommend some good ping and trace software to setup and run for extended hours? Pingplotter? Ghoster?

anyone having problems with international streaming? local speeds tests give me my max speed, i choose a server in new york and i can barely hit 4mb on a 20mb. streaming really sucking right now.
 
Anybody else experiencing slow downloads in the CT area?....Ive been getting 300-400 kb/s rather than the 2.1 Mb/s on a 20Mb line. Downloads taking ages to complete...
Live chat seems to think its storm damage experienced in Cape Town.
Sppeedtest results are normal.

So it seems my account has been de-prioritized....Apparently if your usage goes beyond normal home users your account get drop into a pool, after that its de-prioritized if the usage is not stable after some day.
Now I for one didnt know that. And perhaps if I was actually receiving my usage stats...
Shoddy communication....but thats not new is it?

You a CW customer and you've never heard of WinMTR. Its their default goto first step in troubleshooting.

Well people were moaning when the Afri Reps asked them to do trace routes etc, so now they moaning again about WinMTR.

Never the less, I use both AH and CW, and don't have much issues apart from the usage emails which is driving me nuts right now. No portal, no usage emails.

Does anyone know if this bull**** is valid for Home Premium users as well? I would cancel with them immediately if this is indeed the case.

Are you having the same problems as us capped users? If so, it likely is :sick:
