I'm trying to switch Between CW DNS and 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to see if it makes any difference... right now my latency is around 98ms and my DL speed is only at 1.9mbps on a 20meg line

Netflix was just loading

Burglar alarm. Talks to a service in the cloud over UDP. Hasn't been able to report for a few days... All came through earlier
 
CT and international ping still on average 40 to 50 milliseconds higher.

And gaming pings around 90ms higher to EU.

Still broken.
 
I'm hoping things get better soon. Currently trialing Afrihost prepaid adsl data. Not impressed. Will look at Vox offerings. Will decide during the week whether to remain or jump ship.
 
Requested a port Reset, and now my line Is completely dead. CW had to report the fault to Telkom. Sigh. From bad to bloody worse

How long does it take for a technition to be sent out. Man this sucks right now. Line went dead last night at about 9pm, and still down now. Ffs

Clearly there has been a lot of hate towards our former favourite ISP in the world. Does anybody know what is happening with the Usenet server? That was the one thing that justified my choice of "premium" ISP account. At this stage, I am even considering upgrading my 4 Mb account to a Telkom (yes, you've read right) 10 Mb account for less money. My passion about Telkom is the only thing keeping me from doing it. CW is trying very hard to force my hand, though.

I sent a mail to them asking for at least a partial credit for the time spent without Usenet server, firstly to make me feel better, secondly to motivate them to do something about getting it sorted. I did not get as much as an acknowledgement of my mail.

Which ISP can you recommend, considering that I need Usenet functionality?

Strange... My line is back. Hopped onto support this morning, and magically my line connected again. Not sure if open serve tecchies were at the exchange this morning or what

I got an email from free-usenet.com, they were running their buy one, get one free special again.

I got myself the 1TB block account, $25USD, a few weeks back and I am downloading again after my AstraWeb block was depleted.:D
