Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

Current download speed is 1.4Mb/s on my 10Mb/s ADSL line.

Terrible service. I they were bound to SLAs, they would be bankrupt by now.

Im at 2mb/s on a 20meg line. But my speeds since the move to Evonet has gone down after 6pm each night. Before, no issues, so doubt its my exchange.

Throttled or just my exchange being congested after those times?

My internet seems to have stabilized; netflix fast.com is giving me 13mb and speedtest is giving me 33mb dl and 9mb ul speeds.

I will track it over the weekend and next week. Still have to make a decision whether to stay or go.

Canceled today as per live chat no IPC in CPT so rip Crystalweb, At least i could get usenetbucket as a nntp replacement

"(12:01:21 PM) *****: I would like to find out 2 things, 1) do you have an IPC in CPT still & 2) any news on NNTP servers?
(12:06:48 PM) Support Sentinel: That is still being worked on, will have one very soon hopefully by this month, and as For the NNTP we are still exploring our option

I'm struggling to get some YouTube videos running and others only run at 144p. Some of them run at max(1080).

About a 1/3 of the videos won't start. It just shows the running circle. It is not new stuff. I've watched it before.

I'm using 8.8.8.8.
Can it be that I should use other DNS servers? I don't even know the range for Not So Crystal Web.

If you set it on the router to obtain auto dns (I cannot remember the spesific wording) , is should go to the default dns.

Eish guys, I've been with crystalweb for some time. I have been enjoying good service, they actually called me on my cell once to confirm where my line was when I moved over to them. Support is good too, quick response at all times of the day. I'm on 10mb adsl and I'm actually getting 11mb on a speedtest, ping is good too 35ms, but since the evonet move I've not been able to play games online, games are very laggy. My other friend who was with crystalweb moved because of this. I really hope they will be able to fix this issues with cape town servers. I don't want to move anymore, I've been through so many isp's, its too much of a hassle to cancel now. So crystalweb, please fix whatever it is you are doing, if it means putting me back to 8mb on a 10mb line, so be it, just lemme play again with little to no lag.

I always thought the YouTube thing was just me.

I was going to wait till month end to sign up for fibre...but CW forced my hand. Paying a pro-rata fee is acceptable to get away from this absolutely sheit service.

VPN was dropping every couple minutes for work.

Last comment from me in this thread.

REALLY hope you guys at CW can get back to those days when you started. The difference is like heaven and hell comparing service from now to then.
