Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

I have asked CW end October to move my line to holding pool following their process. HAve not received an SMS that my line is in holding pool. Went offline , line was synching. Now no sync.

Not good.
 
I am extremely angry for weeks already...
I can but hope #Afrihost can help me/ us...

As long as you are angry at the right party which is Evonet (CW).
Afrihost will be able to help but are not going to do anything unless you ask them to take over the line, and provide you with ISP services.
The same applies to any other ISP you may wish to approach.
 
Telkom are not cancelling the lines, that s mid information.
The process worked is as you have been told. You are supposed to get an SMS informing you that you now have the opportunity to get another ISP to pick up the line, give it back to Evonet (CW) or get the ADSL line added to your fixed line telephone account. And then you are free to choose Telkom as your ISP or another, as you wish.

Didnt say Telkom is cancelling. I said the user is sending cancellation requests for their line, which then gets deactivated and no connection. The line is now not in the holding pool, which means that the user would need to re apply for an adsl line

This is what i did with Afrihost today... Hoping it works out...
 
if...and once it works out... i will cancel everything at CW... even though I'm possibly going to be double billed for data this month, once by CW and once by AH!

Can we rather chat over PM? I think you are chatting with AfriGuy and we're going to approach Openserve on your behalf to get you sorted.
 
so just a FYI from my horrid experience, my line was apparently unclaimed in the holding pool too long, and was thus deleted. this results in the

"Checks failed
Unfeasible, due to a pending order on the line
Not Feasible. Other ADSL operator active.
Line is suspended
Not Feasible. Current product is: and is not associated with WSDSL. "

i was on the line with telkom sales, and the only option forward for me is to get a completely new adsl line with a 30 work day delay.

i honestly hope you guys struggling have better success

If you are moving your line over to Afrihost, then please PM me and we'll talk to Openserve on your behalf and get you sorted out.

Don't wait if they did as you asked them, your 30 day period is about to expire. Choose your ISP get the ball going today.
 
Yeh not sure why people cancelled their lines. No need to if you moving the line to the holding pool. Once you cancel that portion, it will most likely go into pending and then cancelled. My line is still up and running, and i havent at any point ask for it to be cancelled. Think people might have gone the wrong route with this
Yes IF they then simply left things to develop. Cancelp and apply for anew service. Your move was the right thing to do especially if you wanted to keep Evonet(CW) as your ISP.
Sorry i did not say you were claiming lines were being cancelled.
The only persons who will experience this are this that had their lines suspended due to non payment and the30 days has already expired. And only Evonet is responsible for that!

I think when people cancelled their lines they meant cancelling CW's ownership of their lines...not cancelling the actual line!

I have asked Afrihost to manage my line yesterday already. I hope they can solve this total muckup for the peeps porting to them.
 
My line udate from Afrihost:
The line is not in the holding pool for migration, the line is feasible to be converted to ADSL and suspended on Telkom side. I have now submitted the line conversion order to Openserve.

Which will probably take 30 days...

Crystalweb mucked up big time.

Did Afrihost PM you to tell you this? I'm still yet to hear anything from Afriguy or Afriman via PM!
 
Did you request cancellation at CRYSTALWEB last month? I did but then i un-cancelled...so i'm hoping my case is different

Wrong then. It shouldnt have been done in that manner in my opinion. When you say cancel, its interpreted as you removing that service completely. I had a feeling that was going to happen, as i just left my line until it bacame unsuspended and active. Now all im doing is asking CW to move that active line to the holding pool, so that somebody can pick it up.

If your line is cancelled or in a suspended state, then it needs to come out of that and be an active line.

Now 23 November thus something different....

If you cancel your line, they make it inactive. You will need to re apply with Telkom/Openserve
