Happily running the 2MB account.

Will test and provide feedback. So far it seems very good. Will test streaming more this weekend.

Hi all Crystal Web early-bird customers.

You can expect an email from our managing director Shaun later this afternoon or early evening with an update and solution to the international issue. We thank you for your patience during this time.

News server logins will begin to go out now, and should be complete within the next 2 hours...

Still struggling to stream on this side. That is my nr1 priority regarding Internet.

What are you struggling to stream exactly and we can look at resolving it too.

Currently testing streaming of live tv and it's working 90% of where we want it to be, but for a specific service, not generically...

As I mentioned previously, try primewire.ag

There's loads to choose from, try one of the streams for yourself to see if your fix is working.
Those services seem to struggle regardless of Hulu or Netflix performance.
That seems to be the true test of any line I use.
If those streaming services work then I know Hulu is going to fly.

The issue with primewire is that it's not a legal site. And the content is hosted on multiple platforms with multiple "partners" of theirs. They don't actually host anything themselves by the looks of things. There is simply no way to test this as a "service" per say. One file on nowvideo.sx may play perfectly while another hosted elsewhere plays completely differently. I'm seeing precisely this right now while "testing" this service.

While we encourage use of legal, paid for services, we know that our customers often opt for free alternatives, but testing and prioritising this sort of traffic isn't feasible, especially when hosted on multiple sites, often limited by their uplink capacity or number of users accessing the same stream at the same time...

The thing is, and I think most of us are using it, is XBMC with their addons. Now these add-ons use services like vodlocker, sockshare, nowvideo.sx, mightyupload etc.... Vodlocker works perfect on Afrihost where I am currently connected to now while I wait for CW to run on all engines. Also what I noticed is EVERYTHING has a working nowvideo.sx link. That for me would be the ultimate, if nowvideo can stream flawlessly on CW as it does on mweb. About 2 weeks ago I had this dispute with Afrihost regarding nowvideo and they asked me to do some screen grabs. Mweb with nowvideo was like a avi file on your local HDD. Afrihost with nowvideo was like a youtube clip on a 256kbps mtn connection after the 3GB has gone poof. So yeah nowvideo.sx I also know nowvideo is not under strain, because I have access to the works 4mbps mweb account and can test via that at home also. Sunday nowvideo on CW was like having a avi file on my pc, flawless. Besides nowvideo I could not get a netflix episode to stream on CW, even when netflix quality is set to the lowest.

These are issues with our international link. It will work flawlessly once resolved, and we also have a solution for our customers who continue to experience problems. More details to follow later this afternoon or early evening.

Cool, thanks. Note I was not complaining here hehe, just saying what my experience currently is. Also regarding the legality of content over the net. My opinion is the average user will not care it it's legal or not, he/she will only care if it buffers or plays throught without a hitch. My sole and only reason why I want to move from AH to CW is because a LOT of sites buffer on AH, don't really care for downloads anymore. Again just my opinion. :)

I fully understand.
I primarily use Hulu and other paid for services but at times I find things on primewire that I watch.
If I compare my experience with AH using the same streaming sites then I don't notice the same issues.
CW was great on Sunday for the mentioned sites.
Which is why I highlighted it and mentioned that it is a true test for my line due to the various hosting platforms.

That is after all what this feedback thread is for is it not?
If you only focus on legal streaming platforms then expect many upset users who as saa044 mentioned don't really care if it's legal or not.
Just the fact that CW has mentioned its news server makes it obvious that legality is not the concern.
Would you prefer it if I only downloaded the illegal content over streaming it?

Good thing that the international connectivity issue popped up so that CW can have a shufty at redundancy, and make their services a whole lot better.

There's nothing like having an ISP who promises redundancy, but goes belly-up as soon as Seacom goes down...

What? You can read plenty of legal news on news servers! :D :p
