Good to hear.

As long as you don't go titsup when any international cable goes down...
Well the other day a cable did go down.
Aside from my torrent becoming as slow as hell, I could still use Youtube, Gmail... etc...

it certainly is the case that as uptake of an Internet service increases spare capacity comes under strain - so you have a cycle of building a network (and various components of the network) getting uptake and growing the network. However this is understood in the planning of an Internet service and in actual fact we are working on additional capacity coming on stream before the launch.

one of the reasons it is best to attract tech heavy users etc ... first is to get the business under pressure to begin with so that you grow on heavy usage cases rather than trying to pad your revenue on an unsustainable business model.

Our real guarantee that we will continue to deliver the best possible experience to users is our cancellation policy which allows a person to vote with their feet for another network. The DSL market in SA will reach full maturity when there are sufficient service providers who offer quality support, reasonable prices and month to month product terms. In turn we are a guarantor for a quality experience at colleague-competitors who offer quality support, reasonable prices and month to month product terms.

Do you have to wait 6 months for your IPC aswell like some other ISP's?

Nog net eeeen slaapie!

Can someone just confirm, accounts will be active at 00:00:01 on the 1st? Or is there a specific time that we can expect a "switch on" to happen?

Extremely eager to change that login details on my router...

Currently set to go live as of midnight, but it runs as a batch, so give it a few minutes if at first you don't succeed...

all of the backbones have an IPC upgrade delay (it is a lengthy process) but the order that is really important to the business has an eta be on stream before July and contingency plans for that problem have been adopted - and there is a worst case scenario for us which will cost the business considerably but that is the price to deliver the best quality service

Why is the process so lengthy?

Glad to hear you're willing to stick your neck out when things don't go according to plan, and shows a level of commitment not seen in other ISP's

a couple of complications come in - equipment is expensive, Telkom needs to do planning etc ...

It is probably a lot more lengthy than it should be because of Telkom problems but even if things were ideal it would be a process involving planning of both financial and technical things

Thanks, that's understandable :)

I'm really keen to see the new website features and product offerings when you guys launch.

Anyway, I wish you guys all the best of luck.

For those that are worried...
I am running close to full line speed on international downloads...
The download line is more or less straight...
Current speed = 862kbyte/sec at 20:48:30

And that is how any ISP account works with no customers. It's then they get more people on the network that things go south ;)
