Just switched back to CW account and throughput is very bad on local and international sites.
I am guessing the fix is coming online (or I hope it is!).

Don't worry about troubleshooting me now, I am off for some well deserved sleep. Here's to hoping for a lag free experience tomorrow night! :)
your not alone i think my browsing just died O_o .....it's ok if your fixing something but incase its a new problem :P

We're experiencing some issues on the Cape Town link of the network and while I can't confirm right now, it does appear to be a symptom of the new hardware coming online (so a symptom of the good news). The issue is localised to the Cape network, so sites hosted in the Cape and users in the Cape are currently affected.

We will keep you updated if the issue persists.

The installations are happening in CPT. ;)

And this isn't an IPC issue.

I can confirm that this is related to the new hardware coming online. This is good news.

It doesn't mean that everything will be online by the morning, but it does mean that things are moving in the right direction. Barring anything out of the ordinary as a result of testing, this should mean that we're looking at good news very soon.

If you've been getting those speeds from around 19:40 it might be cured by rebooting your router

That's not right. Just checked on our end and your account is working without a hitch. There's nothing on the account that's not working. It's routing correctly, not subjected to anything that could slow it down on our end, and I can't see anything to be honest that could result in terrible local speeds at all.

I really do want to help though, so get in touch with support. I've told them to expect a message from you, and they've got a test account standing by for you to play with.

I know your awful speeds have previously been caused by line/exchange issues and I'm actually sincerely hoping it's not this, and it's something we can resolve for you instead.

thanks guys, rebooted the router this morning (didn't use the interwebs much last night) looking better

I'm out the whole day again today so will only know tonight how things are faring so will only contact support over the weekend probably, I have a fault logged with Telkom which I have escalated as well and I'll continue to bug them until I get a decent techie to resolve this on their side (I've done it previously with an issue in the past where I started phoning every day :D)

Excited about the new hardware coming online in CPT, even though they had issues yesterday I had no issues with downloads last night, maxing out my line no problems.

I am excited to be able to play Defiance (although it seems I am the only one in SA playing it, so cant expect to much from CW if ping's are crap).

Streamed a 720p movie (3 days to die) via Mashup without a single hitch.

The problem is I am mowing through my cap at a rate of knots - thanks Shaun for the surprise.

Screw Defiance :P I just want to be able to play FFXIV :D

Super low latencies here, and performing -very- well

My end: YouTube is performing a bit erratically today and international downloads are near non-existent. sub 50KB/s. Still getting significant packet loss to international servers, from trace routes it does still seem to be that 'borwood' link. Hopefully good strides are made today and over the weekend with the new hardware and linking :D

Weird. Last night was the first night I was able to watch live streams on Youtube in 720p. Twitch was still farked though.

Was talking to the support people this morning regarding this issue, they insisted I use 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4, but I found it routes traffic from international servers, I tried Afrihost's DNS (196.7.7.7 196.7.8.9) and now it streams at 1440p fine. Try that.

With regards to Twitch, source quality streams work fine on either DNS for me.
