Crystal Web (NEW ISP) ADSL Feedback

Yup, streaming is prioritised to ensure a smooth experience. Makes me happy to get some positive feedback for a change, although I do understand when people are upset about the international issue.

Regarding international, on my side I see Google services takes a long time to load, especially hangouts. You get a hand full of sites that also takes a while to load, but oddly enough any streaming service I have tried, even the really crappy one's work without a buffer in sight.

Yeah I caught the extra time world cup stuff last night and only once did I hit a small buffer. Other than that, smooth sailing :)

Can't wait to see awesome pings on Wildstar :)

Tested again this morning. Still same problem. Even accepting invites or just trading in eso there is a delay between initiated the action compared to it launching.

This is insanely good...

Further experience showed that early in the morning and later evenings (over the weekend), latency is as per above, which is pretty much as good as things are going to get.

During the daylight hours though, I was regularly up to the 3/500 ms, which was spiky and no good.

Question regarding the contingency plan (which I assume is a different account - if not, please ignore)
Can I leave my router connected to the uncappedbuss account and dial the contingency account from my PC for gaming?
I'm happy with the performance of most things at the moment, D3 being the only exception. So would like to contribute stats/info/feedback/etc on the "normal" account as well where needed, to assist troubleshooting without having to go through a router reconfig exercise each time ;)

I'm actually trying to arrange contingency that will only involve you having to reboot your router, so stay tuned. ;)

If not, a second account may be in order but let me get it all sorted on our end and I'll let you know.

Most adsl routers have this. Its called half bridge. You put your uncapped account on your router which it connects to automatically as it does now. And then u connect with your contingency account ( maybe a capped account) from Windows using PPOE connection.

:)

This much I know. I was more querying the (ethics?) of running both accounts at once...

Even the negative feedback is good feedback, and I think necuno's post was mostly positive to be honest. That's the way I read it.

K, thought I'd try to defend u a little, but now that you said it, and seeing I'm a paying customer, please allow me to be that guy......

................Please sort your @$#%$^ out ! Quickly !

Thank you...

;-)

I just mean, due to the circumstances the uncapped account you paying for is not working to a level you personally require. thus they provide you with a account to supplement the drawbacks of the other for the time being. thus you are in essence paying for both. so it cant be unethical in my opinion.

No, we provide a working account on all fronts, it's not a supplementary account that only works on international, for example.

if you saying you supplying a working account, does this mean that the customers initial/main uncapped account is disabled once you supply this working account? or are you in essence giving the customers 2 accounts for the price of one, one slightly under performing?

I'm not entirely sure I'm following your line of questioning, but let me clarify:

Our accounts are having issues with international connections.
In lieu of that last month we issued accounts to customers on a different backbone not subjected to these issues, at no cost to the customer.

This month we may have a better plan than this, but if it cannot be put in place in time we'll revert to last month's plan. All involve no additional cost to the customer, but it's not two accounts for the price of one.

This started originally with a customer asking if he can use both accounts at the same time and whether that's ethical.

I stated to him he is paying for 'both', since you supplementing the lack of international connectivity with an account on a diff backbone.

Thus, in summary i am saying its not unethical in my opinion for him to use both accounts as he is paying for an account which lacks some international connectivity and is being supplemented by you with another account to cover this lack.

By connecting to both using half bridge wont use any more or less bandwidth than just connecting to the supplementary account. :)

If they go this route they disable the CW account while you are using a supplement account. Or at least that was my understanding last month.

Aah ok. That is what I was asking in Post #2816. I didn't know whether they disable your first account while you use the supplementary account or not. :)
