Lets be honest, none of the telco's in the country deserve to be called the best!

Why is Internet Solutions and Verizon excluded from the list? Or is this only for voice operators? Reason I am confused is because its under the IT/Broadband section.

 What happened to Notel, why no show.....

Are they so pathetic that they received no votes?

During the survey, none of their customers's phones would ring because they lost coverage.

Ok, guys, I must stop reading these articles. I will see you again in the new year.

The best and worst telecoms providers

MTN says “Our customers are at the very heart of our business – we exist because of them. "

MTN award will just incense those on the forum who have problems with them.

Yeah, MTN wouldn't be where they are now if they hadn't suckered their customers with their MTN15 competition which caused gullible cusomters to lose a lot of their hard earned money. Funny how the enqiry into their dodgy competition simply blew over.

I HATE MTN! I WANT OUT OF MY CONTRACT!

Just a couple of questions here:

1. Does Orange UK know about their name being used in this survey?:rolleyes:
2. Does anyone have a URL to the report/index results?

"A telephone company (or telco) provides telecommunications services such as telephony and data communications. Most of the largest telcos, whatever their origins, are or were at one time nationalized or state-regulated monopolies. These monopolies are often referred to, primarily in Europe, as PTTs.

Telcos are also known as common carriers, and in the United States as local exchange carriers. With the advent of cellular telephony, telcos now include wireless carriers, or network operators.

Most telcos now also function as internet service providers (ISPs), and the distinction between telco and ISP may disappear completely over time, as the current trend for supplier convergence in the industry continues."

So seemingly only a few providers have been listed here (at least in the poll...)

So nobody found a link to this year's report/results? Pity.

ITWeb have published an article about this, and 2 follow stories on this, as follows:

MTN wins customer service prize - original article. Read the comments section.

After all the complaints (and at least 1 email from me), the auhtor of the article, Candice Jones did a follow up.

Customers not so serviced

Then MTN responded - as follows: MTN reacts to complaints

Very interesting read. I wonder if myBB will ever do a follow up story as well.

The standards must be very low if MTN is the best. I know one person who went in last week to renew his contract and walked out and straight off to a Vodacom shop he got such an unexpectedly bad reply. I myself switched recently and haven't (yet) looked back (and the list goes on ...)

Might be that much of the sample was prepaid, who never went into an MTN-specific shop or had to worry about billing problems.
